PIPPA & THE BOOT
There once was an old woman who lived in a shoe.
She must have been a lunatic. Living in a shoe sucked.
Or maybe she’d just been absurdly broke and had some brownie blood in her family tree, like me.
Those sorts of stories typically began with interaction between the Realm and the human world. Add a few absurd (by human standards) details, like the idea of residing inside footwear, and a story was born.
My shoe was actually a boot. A giant’s boot. And it had been converted into a livable home many years ago, in a time when the occasional giant still roamed the Realm. The ceilings didn’t soar, but at five-four that didn’t bother me.
