Preface

Although I’ve completed university Economics courses in both the fields of Agriculture and Geography, I’m not an economist or a monetary theorist.  My background is in the fields of Agriculture, Biology/Ecology, and Environmental Geography.  I’m fully versed in the Scientific Method of Inquiry, and in both library and field research.  Since the Crash of 2008, I’ve been researching both Monetary Theory and Economics...relying upon the writings, interviews, and lectures of many reputable people in those fields.  They span the entire political spectrum.  The subject of economic crashes is not a partisan, political issue.  Crashes can and do occur under any economic system, and under any type of political rule.

Currently (January 2021) and arguably, we’ve been in an economic depression for several months.  The trigger of the current Crash was covid-19.  However, even if one views the current downturn as only a recession, the pandemic was not the underlying cause of it.  Had our pre-covid economy been resilient and strong, we would not be in the present mess.

Prior to the pandemic, by about 2018 we were overdue for the next Crash in the Boom-Bust Cycle.  Part I of this booklet explains why.  That Bust still is coming, and the effects of it will be on top of the covid economic effects.
