The Rebellion
The night was pitch black. Despite the darkness that filled the sky, the atmosphere was filled with dozens of angry voices, all wanting the death of one single person.
Keep running. Don’t stop. If you stop, you’ll be killed. If you stop, you’ll die. Don’t stop. Keep going.
Her heart raced, and her vision blurred, but she kept going. Even though things got more difficult with each passing step. The only sounds she could hear were the sounds of her footfalls as she ran, and the angry mob coming for her.
A stabbing pain shot through her back, suddenly, causing her to clench her jaw as she fell to the ground. The raspy voice of the person who had knocked her to the ground rang out. Blessed is the Steins’ family because once you’re dead, this will all be over,
the man sneered.
She looked up to see a tall man. She could see that he had pale skin, short, dark-blond hair, and light blue eyes in the moonlight.
Fucking hell,
the man groaned as an arrow pierced him in the heart. He fell to the ground, instantly, dead.
A man with short, wavy hair, and the same pale skin, ran towards the woman. Tears ran down his face as he scooped her in his arms.
You can’t heal her. I’m sorry. She was stabbed with a special kind of weapon,
a woman said from behind him.
The man’s hands trembled as his dark-grey eyes stared down at the dying woman in his arms. She was beautiful, no doubt, even with the light fading quickly from her equally dark-grey eyes. Her long, dark-brown hair cascaded down in soft curls around her.
RJ,
the woman said softly, each breath causing her to lose more blood. The man said nothing as more tears dripped down his face. Tears slowly fell down the woman’s face as she gasped.
Protect our baby girl, keep her safe, no matter what.
With the last strength of her dying breath, she grabbed her husband’s hand for the last time. I love you,
she said, as RJ watched the light in her eyes go out. No amount of will, no amount of desire, can ease the pain that I now feel,
said RJ, as he sat in a pool of his wife’s blood.
Chapter 1-Detective
The night was young. Regardless, YouMy’s capital was crowded with journalists from different news stations, military personnel, and other detectives. Unanswered questions flew out in a bid to understand the chaotic atmosphere. Many did not know the situation of things, and they all wanted to hear the details.
Alright, alright, quiet down,
a man said, and the room went silent. Standing short and stocky, the man had a whitebeard that gave him a sense of authority. He was also covered in silver-plated armor from head to toe, so he looked like a high-ranking military official.
Give the detectives some space. They need to figure out what happened here,
the man pointed to the back of the room at a beautiful, tanned-skin woman who sneered back at him disgustedly. The detectives walked into the room as soon as the man finished speaking to the press.
You guys go; I’ll stay here, and answer any questions,
the man smiled at the woman. She ignored him and walked out of the room.
Hey, Dawn, wait up,
a woman called as she ran to her side.
Oh, hey, Eve, what’s up?
Dawn asked.
Eve was a beautiful woman with her caramel-colored skin. She had the kind of beauty that made heads turn.
Is Kira interested in you?
Eve’s dark-green eyes glared.
Dawn sighed. I’ve said this time and time again; he’s been hitting on me. I’m not interested in your husband. Get off my back,
she seethed.
Can I cut in and point out that Dawn has a wife,
another woman said.
Thanks, Delilah,
Dawn replied.
Anytime,
Delilah smiled.
Everyone fell silent for a moment. You need to watch him before he ends up sleeping with someone else. And you can be sure that it won’t be me,
Dawn said.
Dawn, Delilah, you’re both here,
a detective said.
They stopped at the room that had a busted up door. The three detectives waved Eve away. She shot a look at Dawn before heading off.
Bitch,
Dawn muttered.
The room was covered in blood along with the body of a dead girl.
Oh shit,
Delilah
