    Chapter One

Sarah. Sarah are you listening? The woman’s tone sharp as it sliced through her thoughts. You need to work this out with Lynn. She is your friend.

Sarah poked at her stake, a look of disgust on her face as juices seeped out. May I be excused? I am not very hungry.

No. She shook her fork at Sarah for good measure. You will sit there until that plate is empty young lady.

I am not hungry! Sarah protested as she pushed her peas about her plate.

Eat. She shot Sarah a warning look.

You need to get over it. Her mother took another bite, chewing rapidly. You need to talk this out with Lynn.

I can’t! Sarah tossed her hair over her shoulder. She is not my friend.

Sarah Marie Price! Her mother usually only called her by her full name when she was angry, or maybe as a last resort as a scare tactic. Talk this out with Lynn, you’ll see that it’s not so bad.

Easy for you to say, you weren’t betrayed by your friend. Sarah rolled her eyes, a dramatic flair that she picked up as of recent.

It won’t get better until you face it and deal with it. She cut another piece
