I'm also a bit spoiled, and have a chip on my shoulder. I'm a disappointment to my parents, but give me a bloody break. What I really want is attention . . . some confirmation of my worth as the third child, the only girl, who's two older brothers "hung the moon."

 

So, here I am, traveling cross country to carve out a career, and life for myself. Well, with some help from my bro. Yeah, he pulled some big brother strings with the FBI Academy at Quantico where I'm interning. Let's see how that works out.  At the very least, I should be able to score some hot hook-ups right?

But when I least expect it, I'm going to learn some well-needed life lessons from two guys that hold my future in their hands.

Andrea Smith (PhD, University of California) is a professor of ethnic studies at UC Riverside. She is the author of Native Americans and the Christian Right: The Gendered Politics of Unlikely Alliances, Native Americans and the Christian Right, and Conquest: Sexual Violence and American Indian Genocide. She is also the coordinator for Evangelicals 4 Justice and a board member for NAIITS, an indigenous learning community. Previously, she served as the coordinator of the Ecumenical Association of Third World Theologians. She lives in Long Beach, California.
