Parapsychology and psychic abilities are unproven, controversial and unexplained mental phenomena at this time. The presence of angels and Guardian Angels, as well as different types of afterlife activities are beliefs that have been present for eons and many are comforting to believe and interesting to contemplate.

Prologue
Sometime around the sixteen hundreds the earth was being visited by many different groups of extraterrestrial beings; one specific group was from a star system approximately three light years away. They were an advanced civilization with very highly developed teleportation technology but it still took them several earth lunar years to commute here, so they necessarily set up an outpost base here on earth.
They did not wish to commingle with the earth population a great deal and cause a disruption in the civilization. Their predecessors had learned by interaction with beings, particularly less advanced social groups, caused chaos.
So this group decided to set up their base away from humans, and the best choice of locations was out in the desolation of the open sea. They could then interact in a limited manner at a time and place of their choosing.
One of their locations was an area off of the island that was called Ireland. They materialized a huge stationary mass in the sea that mimicked the land masses on this planet.
The locals, basically the so-called Irish, eventually identified it as a peculiar and mysterious island, calling it Illa de Brasil, and to this day is an earthly myth and legend that is written about and discussed frequently.
The interaction on the island was limited to small groups of seagoing individuals including local fisherman who would provide fish that eventually became a popular food for the aliens. They would also barter other earth foods and drink for gold, but the fisherman had to keep most of their interaction very confidential due to the distrust of the general population of Ireland. The rumors and stories of the mysterious island and its occupants ran rampant so the fishermen kept the bulk of the interactions and gold they received in payment to themselves and secreted the gold aboard their boats and small ships.
After many earth years of visiting, the aliens were about to leave and return to their home planetary system so they decided to invite the fishermen to a parting celebration. The aliens had them provide huge amounts of seafood as well different types of local food, kegs of Irish beer and whiskey for huge sums of gold that they had mined from the sea bottom with their advanced technology. The gold was but a byproduct of the minerals the aliens needed to supplement the fuel for their warp generators, and on their home planet it was plentiful so they had little use for it but the locals seemed to be very fond of it for its shiny appearance.
After the celebration about their departure, they activated the warp generators to create a wormhole through which they could travel a great distance. Something went very wrong and all of the local molecular structures, including the fisherman, their ships and gold, disappeared as they stood by to watch the aliens’ departure. They were apparently disassembled molecule by molecule and transported into an unknown location or dimension. They virtually disappeared leaving the aliens at a total loss for a solution or reversal of the phenomenon, but had to leave while the wormhole was still active.
The island of Brasil and its entire contents de-materialized when the alien generators ceased to support its existence. Although the island has appeared on older maps, many explorers have since attempted to find it or explain its disappearance but without success.
The aliens now traveled in warp space, contacted their long-term associates and native earth residents for assistance in recovering the victims of the dimension where the accident had occurred.
Current Day
Several hundred miles out in the desolation of the high sea, lying back on his yacht and gazing into the heavens, Clay’s human emotions and sensibilities were dazzled. The blackness of the infinite space of the heavens dotted with millions or even possibly trillions of dots of light from stars and planets made him feel both minuscule and insignificant. This feeling conflicted with his warm and comfortable connection to the universe due to his religious beliefs in a supernatural loving God who specifically created him in this cosmos and shepherded him always.
He recalled one of his favorite refrains from a religious song, Be not afraid, I go before you always, come follow me and I will give you rest.
The song also had a passage about being protected from the sometimes violent sea but he could not recall all of the words.
It was his pleasure that the sea was currently relatively calm and peaceful, but weather reports had warned of a forthcoming storm that he was attempting to outrun.
His reverie was disrupted when his thoughts raced back to the threat of a dangerous storm traversing the Caribbean near Cuba.
He was about midway between the coast of Texas and his destination of Southwest Florida when he realized that a little tropical system had suddenly developed, and was about to be named as hurricane Charlie. It was heading toward the Gulf of Mexico at a fast clip.
He checked the status of the storm and did some dead reckoning calculations on his chart and realized that at his maximum speed he could not make the coast of Florida before the storm’s outer bands or the storm itself overtook him, based on its current projected course and speed.
Having lived in Florida for thirty years he knew that tropical storms and hurricanes frequently developed in the Caribbean or the Gulf area, and not only developed quickly but were fickle and did not always track the way meteorologists suggested they should. Right now the weather radio was indicating that the predicted path was to skirt the Florida coast fifty to one hundred miles off and make landfall about the Tampa, St. Petersburg area.
He reasoned that if he turned and headed for the coast of Mexico the storm might still catch him if it tracked further west than anticipated, but he had very little choice other than to run from it or headlong into it. He reasoned that the Yucatan Peninsula was out of the question due to the proximity of the storm path.
He reluctantly turned almost due west toward Mexico and was sailing on a starboard reach at about six knots. He sat back in the cockpit and thought of his options. He had almost a half tank of diesel fuel but reasoned that as long as he could make six knots under sail he would conserve the fuel. He had no idea where he could buy or even if he could afford fuel in Mexico, and he had no idea how long he would have to avoid the coming heavy weather.
As long as he was heading away from trouble and there was little more that he could do he felt a bit better so he looked back up at the heavens.
Even the earth itself seemed insignificant when looking at the universe of stars in the heavens. He silently thought a prayer to his Maker to lead him into protected waters as he continued looking heavenward.
Storm Effects
A few hours or so later he was falling asleep at the helm but awoke when he realized the a wind gust had back-winded his main sail and slammed it over to starboard and then back to the port. Realizing the wind had picked up considerably and was shifting around he thought it prudent to secure the mainsail boom with a preventer to keep it from jibing back and forth. Then he decided to use some of his battery power to check the radio and find out what the storm was doing.
After a minute or two he learned that the storm was now a strengthening hurricane over Cuba and was heading for the Gulf. It was already devastating Cuba and causing problems from the Florida Keys to Cancun.
Being aware that Cancun was not very far from the land mass of the Yucatan he was obviously feeling the hurricane effects and was probably in for more. Reevaluating he reasoned that he was still right by heading west for Mexico under sail to duck the worst of the storm. He definitely needed to conserve fuel and battery as his boat was not equipped for an extended trip such as this.
Previously
He had gone to the extreme southern part of Texas on several miserable buses in order to save money and to recover his twenty-five foot sailboat that had been stolen from Southwest Florida. When he got there, it was utter confusion between the U.S. and Mexican authorities concerning his boat. It seemed that when his boat was recovered and was seized it was used in a narcotic sting operation involving both countries and was subsequently literally destroyed. The U.S. Federal court ordered the drug enforcement authorities to make restitution for the destruction of his boat and reimbursement for his entirely useless trip. The court set the value of both at fifteen thousand dollars cash but allowed them to offer another sailboat which had been seized and stored awaiting a trial and clear title.
The court asked Clay to examine the boat and determine if it was an acceptable offer in lieu of a cash settlement. Clay was thrilled. The boat was a thirty-two foot diesel motor sailor that would have a clear title. It had some minor problems. Some of the electronic equipment had been ripped out for sale or barter while it was used for several sting operations. When the items were recovered by the agents they had merely collected the electronics and placed them in the boat, and sealed it in plastic wrap labeled as evidence.
Clay figured the boat, even with problems, was worth several times the one he had lost so he was happy with the deal. The
