Summaries of Journey to the Centre of the Earth
and Other Novels by Jules Verne

Introduction
This e-book contains discusses four novels by Jules Verne: Journey to the Centre of the Earth,
Around the World in Eighty Days,
Robur the Conqueror,
and The Master of the World.
These reviews include all the essentials of their respective plots and a few critical notes.
I have never been able to locate the French originals of any of the works of Jules Verne. Some of them are undoubtedly available in college libraries.
In any event, many of his works have been translated into English. Besides the four works treated here, I myself have read From the Earth to the Moon
and The Mysterious Island.
Satire is the salient characteristic of the former. The latter is an interesting story. It is a sort of sequel to Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea.

by Jules Verne

a novel written by Jules Verne. In English, its title is "Journey to the Centre of the Earth.
This unusual expedition was undertaken by two residents of Hamburg, Germany: Professor Lidenbrock and his nephew Axel, accompanied by a paid Icelandic guide named Hans.
Professor Lidenbrock found a message written by a sixteenth century alchemist named Arne Saknussemm. The message was a coded message written in Icelandic runes. Professor Lidenbrock could read the runes, but he could not figure out the code.
By chance, Axel figured out the key to the code, but he hesitated to explain it to the professor. In the message, Arne Saknussemm claimed that he had traveled to the center of the earth. In
