About this ebook

Emmanuel tells the story of Jesus’ life by using all four of the Gospels, (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) and part of the first chapter of the book of Acts and part of I Corinthians.
Learn the story of Jesus’ life: where He was born, how He lived, and what He taught. See how He resisted the temptations of the devil, how He healed people and cast out demons. Discover why He went to the cross, how He rose from the dead, and why so many people love Him today.
This book follows Jesus’ earthly life from the very beginning of the Gospel record, through His many trials and His confrontations with the religious leaders of the day. It also tells the accounts of His miracles, betrayal, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension.
This book is NOT intended to take the place of the Bible, but it may help you understand the story of Jesus’ life better by giving you a more chronological account of it; however, nothing can ever be more complete or accurate than the Bible itself.

    Review

Theologians go after a task such as harmonizing the Gospels from a scholarly and historical approach that leans heavily on technical critical concerns. April Marie has done this same job, but from the perspective of a handmaiden of the Lord who loves Him and His words. For April, in her trials and suffering, these are not theological words; these are words of life and hope and comfort. May your reading of Emmanuel wash you in the same river of life that has refreshed April.

    About the Author

I was born with fragile bones and by age 16 I had experienced about 26 casts because of broken bones and a few planned surgeries to put rods in the bones in my lower legs and thighs. I also used to wear braces on my legs that went from my feet to my hips. If it was up to the doctors I would never sleep without them, let alone walk without them, but I am not wearing them at all now and I am doing quite well without them because the Lord Jesus made it possible.

When I was about six years old, I realized that I loved God and wanted Him, but my sins kept me from getting close to Him. My mom taught me that the only way to God is through Jesus. She was also a wonderful example of how Jesus is always there for you because she was there for me through everything. She led me in a prayer and I have belonged to Jesus ever since. I never could have gone through all I did or written this book without Him.

When I was 17, I was in the youth group at Harvey Oaks Church in Omaha, NE. and Youth Pastor Ed (who was later called to serve in another church), illustrated Jesus’ death in a way I will never forget. He took out a whip he made with barbed wire and a wooden stick and beat a rug wrapped around a chair to illustrate how Jesus was whipped. After three hits, the barbed wire broke away from the wood and stuck into the rug; then he hit a metal chair with the wood to show how Jesus was hit with the reed when the soldiers were mocking Him.

It stirred up a new passion for Jesus in me. I wanted to watch some Jesus movies, but I could not find any at first, so I decided to read through the Gospels instead. That was when I discovered how different they were from each other. They did not conflict with each other, but each told about different things that happened in Jesus’ life. Later I did find some Jesus movies, but I was not satisfied with the way they were made. They were not bad, just not all I hoped to see. I decided to see if I could put the Gospels together so they could be more easily understood. This book is the product of that experience.

The actual research began when I was 19. Now it is 2015 and I turned 33 on April 24th of last year. It took so long because I have had to redo and repair things so many times that I have lost count. Satan has attacked my efforts to write this book practically from the beginning by corrupting the discs I used to save it and by causing frequent computer problems, not to mention my own silly mistakes that I had to fix, but it has been an exciting and highly educational challenge.

I would never have thought that I would write a book like this. I have never considered myself either a writer, or an organizer. God did it through me. There is no other way I could have done it. I think part of the reason God chose me for this project is because He knew there was no way I could do it without Him and I was and am available and thankful to serve Him and do His will.

I believe that if every believer would write down the things that God teaches them, test and prove it with Scripture, and put it before the eyes of believers and unbelievers, it would change the world and save many souls, but if it cannot be proven with the Bible, then it probably was not meant for the world; it was more likely only meant for you.

Every word within the chapters of this book is taken directly from the King James Version of the Bible.

I capitalized some words that may or may not necessarily be capitalized in your Bible. These words include: He and Him when it refers to God the Father, Son, or Holy Spirit; Light when it refers to Jesus; Word or Words when it refers to the Words that God or Jesus spoke; Gospel and Gospels; Scriptures;  Kingdom of Heaven  and Kingdom of God, and some other words not listed here.

Another thing you should know is that the double spaced paragraphs show the different sections based on the outline I made.

    Disclaimer

Except for the titles or headings, every word within the chapters of this book is taken directly from the King James Version of the Bible; however, it is NOT a substitute for the Bible, I CANNOT overemphasize that fact. It is only meant to piece the Gospels of Jesus' life together, thereby improving your understanding of it.

I believe that the Holy Spirit has lead me in the organizing of this book and I have done the best I can to organize the events of Jesus' life chronologically, but I am not perfect and there may be other people who would disagree with the organization or other ideas in this book.

There are places in the Bible where two or more verses from two or more different books say the same thing in a slightly different way; in many such cases I did some mixing and matching within the same verse or sentence so there will be times when you may have some difficulty in finding the exact wording in the Bible, therefore if you use the Bible to confirm what is in this book (which I strongly encourage) you will need to read every passage with * by it as shown in the outline provided for you.

The entire book is made by mixing and matching different passages of the Bible together and I did not use any commentaries, study guides, or other books to help me figure out how I should organize or mix and match the different sections within this book. I only used the Bible itself and the outline that I personally made by using only the Bible, trusting God to guide me, and I got some advise from my mom and brother about the different options I had. When different options were available it was more a matter of taste rather than a matter of right or wrong because the different options said the same thing in a slightly different way.

I am not responsible for your personal beliefs, decisions, or actions or for anyone else’s. You and only you are responsible for the path and lifestyle you choose. I am not responsible if your personal taste differs from mine or that of my family or if you do not approve of the way I organized or mixed and matched the different passages of the Gospels of Jesus' life. I hope you enjoy the book.

    Outline

The following outline of this book is made so that you can check what I have written with the Bible. There are places I have actually combined two or more verses that were talking about the same thing from two or more different books in the Bible so if you check it with the outline you will need to read all the passages with a star (*).

All of the chapter and section headings in the book have the same title as they do in the outline.
