About this ebook
The Great Awakening is both a battle against traitors at all levels of American government and the story of a spiritual awakening within every individual who has the courage to confront the facts of what really is happening. The author wrote these poems to make sense for himself of these monumental and still unfolding events, looking at the Great Awakening as something taking place in his own heart. His poems will speak to the hearts of many others who read them.

FORWARD
The human being lives suspended between unknowns
- wings of eternity that hold our lives aloft.
Poetry is a way of making sense of what is happening in the midst of events that we can never completely understand. For years I have practiced the activity of writing poetry as a means of getting closer to knowing what is going on in the hidden depths of my life, at a level deeper than what the intellect alone can fathom. The poems here and those that will follow them in a second book to come mark my ongoing attempt to make sense of my life in relationship to the bigger themes taking place at this particular time in human history when a very decisive battle is taking place – a battle that concerns all human beings living upon the Earth.
This battle has been called The Great Awakening. First of all, it exists as an outer battle where mighty powers, spiritual and physical, fight fiercely for the control of the Earth. But everything that is happening in the outer world is echoed in the experiences of our inner life. There, the Great Awakening enters our consciousness first of all as a challenge to live our lives with authenticity. There is inner conflict in this demand because each one of us is open to a multitude of voices and must find our own path. Much is done to distort our understanding of what is going on, but to those of us who heed the call, the Great Awakening is an ongoing quest for truth that takes place at ever-deeper levels of our consciousness.
To become aware that one is a combatant in the battle for the Earth is something both wonderful and terrible. One of the greatest challenges is that so few people are aware of what is happening. Dealing with the widespread disbelief and apathy about events so important to humanity is not easy, and self-doubt and other negative emotions easily arise. Poetry is my way to shine light into the
