About this ebook

Many companies have attempted to implement popular methodologies (think Six Sigma, Agile, SCRUM, etc.) in a bid to enhance communication with remote workforces and technical vendor teams.

But none offer the benefits of Accelerated Work Effort—or AWE—which offers award-winning methods for better collaboration with workforces and vendors.

In this guide, business leaders Anthony Washington and Douglas Scott share examples rooted in actual production environments from leading companies around the world. These companies have taken a stand and produced superior products amid tremendous pressures.

AWE applies proven best practices with efficient applications that are useful for anyone in any role in any work structure or organization. Moreover, it can be used on a wide array of projects to achieve operational process efficiencies and accelerate timelines for realizing returns on investment.

Although many companies have attempted to implement popular methodologies—PMBOK, Six Sigma, Agile, SCRUM, SAFE, CMM, ISO, HIPPA, and SOX rating—the next generations of IoT, cloud, and Omni-channel commerce demand that the best companies come up with better communications to reach remote workforces and technical vendor teams. This book is dedicated to eliminating the mystery that often accompanies implementing new iterative processes for IoT applications and the infrastructure that supports them globally.

    Introduction

If an application or service project is to be successful, every team member must take ownership of the product.

It has never been more technically challenging to grow your business than in our current economic climate. In fact, many companies end up stranded between innovation and wasting money when it comes to delivering on key projects and/or product backlogs. Businesses need better communication, measurable performance, and financial controls. Today’s customers demand business and technology teams that collaborate well, but many of these teams have different performance metrics and don’t speak the same languages.

Remote workforces and technology vendor teams are stretched to deliver projects tied to revenue, operational efficiency, and savings. Without new methods to achieve these goals, project teams will continue to burn labor hours on deliverables that may not meet the needs of the business, and they may not discover the gap in communications until near the end of the project.

The methods of AWE were developed by working with technology vendor contracts using onshore and offshore workforces. Many executives recognize the added energy the AWE method offers to orchestrate better team collaboration using next-generation digital workplace tools, effectively manage scope, and improve the management of resources. The best part is you likely already have everything you need for success!

    How Was AWE Created?

Picture a cold morning commute from the suburbs into a Midwest city. A man stops at a traffic light before the highway entrance ramp. Soon the left-turn light turns green, signaling the man to proceed toward the ramp.
