    Chapter 1: The Human Condition

Modern science has demonstrated that any individual's essential characteristics are indelibly etched within the form of their body. Life is a challenge: your body is a vehicle which you use to get together with others on the roads of life. In this book we’ll look at what kind of car you are and what you need to have a pleasant drive on the long road of life. You’ll also discover how many vehicles are present on the road of modern life and how to interact with them. Collaboration is essential to progress and happiness. We come into contact with all sorts of fellow humans travelers in our lives. What we get out of life often relies, to an incredible degree, on our friendship with them.

To start with, we’ll begin with some critical points. These are brief, but crucial to the bigger picture we shall paint in the later pages of this book.

How does our environment affect us?:

The biggest challenge confronting any individual is their environment. Your view of the world is determined by your parents, family, friends, co-workers, media and culture. The businesses in your home town will reflect the resources available to them or the connections their residents have made with others. If your life, career or relationship aren’t working you ought to change your behavior or adjust your life to suit you. If the world changes, and you remain static, you will likely suffer the same way tropical plants struggle if they are transplanted into the dry deserts of Nevada.

However, it doesn’t have to be this way. Some plants emerge and continue to develop in difficult conditions such as the sagebrush. Its ancestors couldn't travel far, and its waterless world was unchanging, so it did the same as you and I would do.  It adapted. The stalwart little shrub is a reminder of what a plant can do when in adverse conditions! It can adjust to the local climate and become highly successful. Humanity is often faced with the same issues that all life faces – it must change regularly to meet the circumstances under which they have to survive or become unsuccessful or extinct. You have to consider the sagebrush, as you move from your town or state to a foreign place, your current job to a new job or when starting a new relationship. The fantastic news is that, while the sagebrush took thousands to millions of years to adapt, humanity is highly creative and can change rapidly. Always be aware that the principal challenges in your life are common throughout society.

    Understanding yourself and others:

As long as you remain in civilization or any community, you should always take into account the existence and the behavior of others. Regardless of what you seek, the aspirations, desires and actions of others become essential connections or barriers throughout your life. Without the support, confidence and camaraderie of others you will find it difficult to go far.

Social consideration has not always been such a prescient matter. In our early history, our ancestors met far fewer individuals and had even less to discuss with each other. The human factor was not the most significant concern in the period. Their environmental issues related to matters such as climate, extreme tempests, cycles of hot and cold, darkness, and dealing with wild animals.

But with time comes progress and change. Humanity has subjugated its wild predators, and is now the most dominant higher life form across the world. More than 7 billion people inhabit the planet in the 21st century. Humanity has built skyscrapers, created communications networks across the globe, and can transform darkness into light with the simple push of a button. We have entered a social millennium.

    Mastering your own world:

In today's world towns are distinct from the forest and we have newer, modern, problems as opposed to our ancestors that dwelled in simpler times. We're no longer scared of cold extinction, we’ve turned the fire on. We don't fear the vast oceans which kept out our primitive forebears but travel over their surfaces easily, safely, and luxuriously. We can breakfast in New York and enjoy dinner in San Francisco on the same day!  This is not without consequence however. By constructing this impressive superstructure of contemporary civilization, humanity has built a world so vast and dynamic that it now confronts the current environmental challenge of human relations.

    Modern Spider's Web:

Today, we rely almost entirely on the efforts of others for the necessities of existence: the meals you consume, every trip you make, every book you read, every bed on which you sleep, every phone call to your relatives and every dress you wear is the work of hundreds to thousands of human hands and as many human minds.

With hideous and inexorable intent, evolution dictates that regardless of whether you’re a desert shrub, or a someone living an average life, you can only succeed by adjusting to the setting. Adapt or fail is nature's motto. Those who strive to improve themselves and others will typically receive substantial or permanent benefits. To do so, you must understand how people vary in their likes and dislikes, personalities, strengths, habits, and skills. The combination of these traits underlies each person’s personality. For each characteristic, trait or emotion there are corresponding physical bodily signs, where
