About this ebook

There he is, William White, the man she has argued with for three years. The man who said Nadia's book was lousy, the man who has sent her mean reviews from fake accounts. She has of course had her revenge, using his dirty tricks right back at him. When her friend throws a release party in celebration of her newly published book, Nadia walks up to William to continue their argument face to face. He is such an asshole! I strike my keyboard, get up and yell at the screen. This will cost him. I look up his latest title on Goodreads – some lovey-dovey feelgood crap called Magnificent Mandarins in a Maldivic Café – log in and type:

Warning! Very amateurish writing. Didn’t bother finishing it. Recommended for Satanists that are into self-torture. How can mandarins be magnificent? I have so many questions, and I got no answers. Are there even cafés in the Maldives? Who would even buy something healthy, like a mandarin, in a café, and does this fruit even grow in this group of islands? William, I have one thing to tell you. Research!

It feels slightly better. Emphasis on slightly. What he spat out about my latest horror novel, Monthof Blood, was so mean, I want to laugh and cry at the same time. He said the characters were flat and bland and that I – the writer, Nadia Rodriguez – should change genre and start writing manuals about chainsaws instead of describing them so incessantly in my fiction. For some reason, this man has actually read my book, and that’s almost what bothers me the most. He read it and he hates it.
