When Madame had arrived at the building in the city centre, it had come across as a grey, boring concrete box. An ordinary office block, where ordinary men in pinstripe suits worked and took care of what they considered to be important stuff. The interiors had not improved her first impression.

The corridor in which she now found herself was stretching out in front of her, all deserted and empty, and if it hadn’t been for the carpet, Madame’s sky-high stilettos would have announced her arrival from a mile away. Right at the end of the corridor, she could see the enormous set of double doors where her adventure for the day was waiting on the other side.

As she reached the doors, a small alcove opened up to the left, furnished with three armchairs that looked far from comfy, and a little table placed just out of reach so that you couldn’t put your cup of coffee down without getting up.
