    The Prophet Muhammad

    Muhammad was a last prophet and apostle. Muhammad began to spread the teachings of Islam to all humanity and spread the message of his belief. Muhammad equally upheld the teachings of monotheism as carried by previous prophets and apostles. As like other Prophets, he also had miracles. His followers believed that he was already mentioned in the Books before Koran. He was the last messenger who was written in Bible.

    Born in 570 AD in Mecca, Muhammad passed through childhood as an orphan.  Muhammad grew up under the care of his grandfather Abdul Muttalib then his uncle Abu Talib. As a teenager, Muhammad worked as a trader.  Muhammad sometimes retreated to the cave of a hill for nights to contemplate and pray.  Narrated in the age of 40, Muhammad was visited by the Angel Gabriel and received the first revelation from Allah. Three years after the first revelation, Muhammad began to preach openly, declaring the oneness of God in the form of surrender through Islam as a true religion and leaving other gods.  Muhammad received revelations gradually until his death. Muhammad's practices are narrated in the hadith, referred to by Muslims as a source of Islamic law along with the Koran.

    Muhammad and his early followers discovered various forms of resistance and torture from several Meccan tribes.  As the persecution continued, Muhammad justified some of his followers to move to Habasyah, before Muhammad embarked on a mission to migrate to Medina in 622. The hijrah event marked the beginning of the calendar of the Hijri Calendar in Islam.  In Medina, Muhammad united the tribes under the Medina Charter.  After eight years of defending the attacks of the Meccan tribes, Muhammad gathered 10,000 Muslims to surround Mecca.  The attack did not get much resistance and Muhammad took control of the city with a little bloodshed.  He then destroys idols.  In 632, a few months after returning to Medina after
