The purpose of this book is to serve as a guide to help any new flight student help make the most of their experience. This book helps flight students plan and organize a strategy to get a private pilots’ license. The goal of this book is to help students maximize the value of their time and money and take the steps needed to create the best and least stressful outcome possible. This book discusses requirements to become a pilot in both the United States and Canada, so aspiring pilots in both countries can both benefit from the insights in this book.
This book is meant to benefit anyone who wishes to gain the insights of an actual, private pilot. The information in this book is the stuff that I wish someone would have told me before I began flight school. I wrote this book to help make it easier for others to complete their flight school training with the best outcome possible.
As a private pilot myself, I hope to share my trials and tribulations, and the things I learned along the way on this journey. In writing this book, I hope to help anyone seeking their pilots’ license in the safest, easiest, most cost-effective, and most enjoyable way possible.

Thinking about learning to fly brings up a host of emotions from nostalgia, to frustration, and finally, to triumph and pride. I had wanted to learn to fly since I was ten years old, when I would often go flying with my father – a private pilot and airplane salesman. The sense of wonder and exhilaration that flying inspired in me stuck with me throughout my life.
