Some Responses To Questions About The Bible - H. Eade
Introduction
The Bible has always caused controversy. This can be seen throughout its history. For example, in 1530, a royal injunction in England forbade buying or owning an English Bible and hundreds of people who did so were burned at the stake (Riplinger, 2003: 818-820). Since those times, it has become more freely available; however there are frequent attempts to discredit it.
Over the next few pages, some responses to questions about the Bible can be found. All scripture verses quoted are from the Authorized King James Version. Any deviations from this text are unintentional.
Is the Bible full of contradictions?
Some points to consider:
1. Sometimes it appears that there are contradictions. In Proverbs 26:4, the reader is told Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. In the very next verse however, the reader is told Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.
