Ghost Encounters: 13 True Tales of the Supernatural

About this ebook
Do you believe in ghosts? Start listening to the people around you and subtle hints of stories just like the ones in this book will show up. Your first inclination might be to discount those stories, because to the rational mind they sound irrational. It just sounds too weird.
The idea of ghosts and hauntings did not make sense to me for a long time. Over the years with each new story and experience my perspective has changed. I have become a believer! (Mostly.) I do not believe everything I read or hear – only a fool does. What I do believe is this: some things exist beyond the accepted knowledge of what we consider “reality.” What are ghosts, spirits, angels, and demons? I have no idea. Do people have life-changing experiences with these unknown entities? Yes, they do.
I have had weird experiences throughout my life, beginning in childhood. But I have always used my rational, scientific mind to try to understand and categorize the experiences as something entirely rational and understandable. That was part of the problem. We just cannot really look at ghosts with our rational minds; we must hear and experience these stories with our emotional, spiritual minds.
That does not mean that you must ignore your rational, scientific mind in order to “believe” in ghosts. No, it just means you must admit that science does not have all the answers. You can admit that, right? Just a few hundred years ago, science told us the Earth was flat, and bloodletting was the answer to illness. Doctors once told us that mental illness could be cured by pounding a hole in someone’s skull to let the demons out. See, science is a work in progress. We learn more with each discovery. I believe that will happen with the phenomenon of ghosts. Eventually, science will be able to explain to us just what really does happen to the soul after death. Or what the soul really is.
It all started for me as a child with Granny telling me stories that she did not share with many people. But the final experience that cemented my belief in ghosts occurred just a few years back when my deceased husband came to check on me one night. I thought it was my NEW hubby coming to bed, but no. (You can read that story in the last chapter.)
My Granny is the reason I became fascinated with ghosts at an early age. She and I would tell each other stories. The difference was that HER stories were true. She did not tell the ladies at Sunday church school about the demon visitor, but she told me. I miss my Granny! (And no, she has never visited me as a ghost, although she has brought messages in my dreams.) Her daughter, my mom, loves to read. When mom discovered I had a craving for ghost stories, she kept my little library well-stocked. No one else in my family, except my Granny, was fascinated with the supernatural.
In this book you will hear true stories of child ghosts, animal ghosts, visions, demonic visitors, life-saving ghosts, angel hugs, and some truly weird phenomena. All of these stories are true. Each story either happened to me or some brave soul told me all about their spooky experience. Some of the situations in this book have been slightly changed, and names have been altered. This is to protect personal information and identities of those who shared these stories.
So, settle in and get ready for some fun. Go grab something to drink or snack on and get comfortable, because once you get started with this book you might not want to put it down. But just a gentle warning to you: do not read this book on a dark and stormy night, unless all the lights are on. Enjoy my true ghost stories!

Every science fiction and fantasy novel she could find. As an adult, she reads every self-help book she can find in her quest to manage stress and to stop eating so much chocolate. Now though, she reads whenever she wants to, which is still all the time.Between writing books and producing a podcast, she also co-publishes a holistic health and wellness magazine - Natural Awakenings. You can find her online at ShannaWarner.com, and read the online version of her print magazine at NAOklahoma.com.She is a mom, step-mom, sister, daughter, friend and wife to some really wonderful people, and to a few that she considers questionable. But they feel the same way about her, so it is all good. Her days are filled with work, meditation, coffee and tea. And along the way, she strives to consistently share messages of acceptance and love.
