    My children are all monsters, yet I love them with a burning ferocity that will never abate. It is both the blessing and the curse of a mother to love one’s children unconditionally, no matter what they become.

    I was the daughter of the greatest goddess, Gaia, and she bore no great love for her children. We only existed to please her, to help rule the world she had helped populate with gods.

    Like most goddesses, my childhood was a brief one, spent in a great patch of earth at the edge of the world, a splendid lush garden that my mother called home. I came to know all manner of flower, blade of grass, type of tree; inhaling the fragrant scent of hyacinths
