Short Hikes Around Hpa-An: Amazing Vistas of Myanmar
()
About this ebook
The capital of Myanmar’s Kayin State, Hpa-An is one of the most stunning places in the world. Yet, it is largely overlooked and underrated, and most visitors to Myanmar don’t include it in their itinerary or spend very little time there. The laid-back city is in a vast plain from which curious looking limestone mountains and hills pop up here and there. In and around Hpa-An, you’ll find iconic Buddhist pagodas, surprisingly beautiful caves, natural water pools, and amazing vistas. Information is provided about all the main attractions, but the focus of this miniguide is on short hikes, presenting 7 that you can do independently. Hikes are explained through short descriptions, maps, elevation and distance data, and lots of photos. Furthermore, in the text there are links that open a particular trail in Google Maps or download the trail file on your device.

About the series
This title is the second of a series of miniguides that aim to present concise but accurate and visually telling information about some of the most stunning places of the world – the focus is on short independent hikes and amazing vistas.
You would think that today, when tourists have over-run the whole planet, everything is covered. But that’s not the case; certain places and certain attractions are indeed, in fact, often over-covered, but there is little or no information about others, or what information is available is confusing and inaccurate. These miniguides intend to provide the essentials about some of these places and attractions, through short descriptions, trail maps, elevation/distance data, and series of photos. Furthermore, in the text there are links that open a particular trail in Google Maps or download the trail file on your device. These miniguides, I hope, are a great way to learn about different options available in a location before you go, and they may also come in handy along the way.
This miniguide series is also intended to be open for cooperation. Things change and there may be worthy hikes that I didn’t cover or there may be mistakes in the information. If you would like
