The forest belt ended right in front of a blank fence. The amulet lock, shaped like an animal's snout, habitually gaped with its grin, and Rita, smiling, put her hand into the stone mouth. The beast’s eyes flashed green for a moment, and then, with a creak, the heavy gate opened slightly, inviting the guest: Pheleriana high school always let its former students in without hindrance – of course, if they did not stain themselves with shameful offenses.
It was late September. Rita walked slowly along the alley, basking in the last rays of the sun, enjoying the caressing magic of this lovely place. Alma mater! Caught up here and there schoolboys unabashedly looked at the beautiful student; the teachers were fortunately nowhere to be seen, only the checkered redingot of Olga Stolje, the teacher of first-graders, flashed in the distance among the bushes.

– Greetings, the daughter of Themis, – Lea muttered, hugging Rita, sullenly looking into her face (Rita studied to be a lawyer).
– Well, what happened?
Lea looked away.
– I’m not allowed to exams.
– ...!
Their mothers were sisters. This summer, Lea's parents survived a painful divorce, one of those that kicks the spirit out of even the thickest-skinned natures – and now a new misfortune. Lea, of course, always studied worse than her cousin, but still ...
– But still, good reason is needed to prevent it!
– It is. I used magic in this summer when I lived with Dan.
Well, of course! Article No. 5 – a minor does not have the right to practice magic outside school hours, except in special cases.
Lea looked defiantly:
– Just think, with sorcery, I opened a bottle of beer or sent dirty socks to the hamper! And now they want to kick me out without a
