About this ebook

For nearly three years after the death of his fiancée, Elliott Everly has wondered about the woman who received Calinda's heart. While in London on business, he contacts Mia Astor and sets up a long overdue meeting.

When he meets Mia, he understands why everyone who knows her, loves her. She is sweet, beautiful, and a breath of fresh air. But perhaps the most fascinating aspect of Mia is that she knows intimate details of conversations he once shared with Calinda. Mia calls it "heart memory" - that the heart never forgets, and Calinda's fondest memories are now part of her.

Elliott is immediately smitten with the dark-haired beauty, but is it Mia he cares for, or is it the part of Calinda that lives on in Mia?

It was the text she had hoped to receive for nearly three years.

Mia Astor curled up in the overstuffed easy chair in front of the fire and read the message on the screen of her mobile phone.

My name is Elliott Everly. Please forgive the lateness of this long overdue contact. Calinda’s mother emailed that you would be in London over the next few weeks, and I am back from Paris and staying temporarily in Mayfair. Would you be agreeable to meeting face to face for a chat?

An unconscious smile crossed her face as she typed the word yes and hit send.

    *

Yes, this meeting was long overdue…and Mia would likely be late.

The taxi inched its way toward Mayfair in the bumper to bumper London traffic. Not to mention it was one of the coldest evenings of the new year.

Mia twisted her gloved hands in her lap. She was nervous for sure. Often, she wondered what her first face to face meeting with Elliott Everly would be like. After two years went by with no contact from him, she resigned herself to the possibility that he did not want to meet with her.

    And that was okay.

After all, it was a rather rare situation they shared.

The taxi beeped its horn and the traffic again slowly flowed. She automatically checked her watch for the third time in the last five minutes. She really wanted to make a good first impression and arriving late would shatter that. Yet, by luck or Fate, or some combination of the two,
