About this ebook

Remember when I used to joke about writing a book one day? So there you
have it, said day has come. Now the world gets to rejoice in this compiled and
curated collection of content from my Instagram. I included many contextually
related pictures as well, although I put the main focus on my writings. Often
philosophical or wise, sometimes funny or ironic, other times poetic or just
unemotional, objective and informative. With mindfulness and self-awareness.

Poems:
This chapter is especially for you if you like words and stuff. Please note my
crafty description, indicating I know a lot about these things. I promise the
following content will be way more literary than this.

Anecdotes:
In this chapter, you can find short stories, opinions and anecdotes of mine.
Also, quotes by other wise people and my opinion on them. The wide variety
of topics ranges from seemingly superficial nonsense to indispensable
wisdom. From a mindful appreciation of nature and gratitude to be alive to
carefree existence and relishing the present moment. This and more coming
up next. Enjoy!

Antidotes:
The antidote to not knowing something is learning it. Regardless of whether
you have ever even asked yourself any of these questions, I will answer them.
In this chapter, you can find interesting, funny, useful, useless, trivial,
profound, and other facts about life, earth, the universe, flora and fauna,
people, language, etymology and other stuff related to my Instagram posts'
pictures and/or directly copied from their caption texts.

Bonus: The origin of spreadfire
What's the story behind the name?
This is the origin story of spreadfire. It's mostly about the birth of the name
and only tangential about the person behind the pseudonym. Fear not for the
messiah has come.

    Preface

    Hey, hello!

I'm glad you're here! Both here reading my book and here in general, on this beautiful earth.

Remember when I used to joke about writing a book one day? So there you have it, said day has come. Now the world gets to rejoice in this compiled and curated collection of content from my Instagram. I included many contextually related pictures as well, although I put the main focus on my writings. Often philosophical or wise, sometimes funny or ironic, other times poetic or just unemotional, objective and informative. With mindfulness and self-awareness.

I combined the posts thematically and loosely sorted them chronologically with my older content first. In my opinion, my later works are of much higher quality. So the book keeps getting even better, the further you're in. Also, when you notice the conversational style addressing my (potential) Instagram audience, consider the context in which I originally wrote most of this. This book's content, art and information are naturally subject to subjective interpretation. Feel free to take from it what you want.

Contains additional bonus commentary by yours truly.

Thank you for downloading and reading. Enjoy!

    Introduction

This chapter is especially for you if you like words and stuff. Please note my crafty description, indicating I know a lot about these things. I promise the following content will be way more literary than this.

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. - Leonardo da Vinci

    Perspective Matters

There's so much beauty in nature and all things around us. We just have to learn to recognize it. It might take a change of perspective - like in this low angle shot, where I literally had to go down and close so all the details which would otherwise be hidden could reveal their beauty to my eyes.

Once we see, we can admire, furthermore appreciate.

ATTENTION! Pseudo-wise, partly parodic partly serious caption

Today I asked myself - what does the world desperately need? After a split second, it came to me. The easiest answer of my life: more low angle shots! Makes for a fresh new look on ordinary, mundane things one would otherwise not even notice let alone pay closer attention to. In addition to the literal angle change, there's also something else to take away from this. Take it in a metaphorical sense: When you have a problem, it can help to look at it from a different perspective. I know, I know - your mind is probably blown right now. You're thinking:

Wow! I never thought of that. Thank you, random guy on the internet, for expanding my horizon and making my life even better. - Literally no one ever.

    Dream Big, Work Hard

    First, you have to believe

    Now would you please retrieve

The garbage bin after you took out the trash. Thanks.

    - spreadfire1, dreaming big and feeling poetic.

Being brought back to earth with a bang.

It's important to have dreams, visions and goals but always stay grounded and focus on the task at hand...and also don't forget to take out the trash. Otherwise, it will start to smell disgusting. Try to find an ambiguous meaning or metaphor in that last part.

    Metaphorical Excellence

    Sick rhymez, right?

Glad that I get to harvest the fruits of my labors. Well, actually literally the plum tree did all the heavy lifting and now I get to pick its fruits. But still, you know the saying: Grab the metaphor by its knees and eat it while it's hot.

Follow spreadfire1 for your daily dose of original, unpredictable nonsense that makes you think twice and some occasional wisdom. Oh, and cool pictures, of course. Don't forget the pictures

Happy Friday everybody, have a great weekend, take care and stay awesome!
