About this ebook

LINES OF LICORICE is an allsorts book of poems, many of which have been typed on my iPhone, or even scribbled on napkins and scraps of paper. I never intended to write poetry, but once I started to meditate these word arrangements just poured forth. Later, I learnt it's like a tap that I can turn on and off. However, sometimes the tap drips during the wee hours. And all hours. Poetry is a constant companion, a passion, a succour.

    These poems come,

    postcards from you to yourself.

    There’s an intimacy in it and from it,

    and you realize, deep within yourself,

    that separation is the falsehood, the myth, the fantasy.

    We have forgotten that words are just sounds.

    Angular sounds, mellifluous sounds.

    Soft sounds, harsh sounds;

    But, nonetheless, sounds.

    In the beginning was Sound.
