CHAPTER ONE: THE BEGINNING OF HUMAN IMMORTALITY
Mr. Sakhawat frowned the moment his eyes caught the headlines on the newspaper.
The work boy, Matin, was pouring tea. He had no parents, so Mr. Sakhawat picked him up from the road and brought him home 3 years ago when he was just 13 years old.
- Sakhawat Shah kept an eye on the newspaper while mumbling, Hmm, Why?
- No, I mean I would leave the motor with water, no
- Why is there no water?
-Supply, sir
- Hurry up and take a cup of tea from Sakhawat Saib magazine. I will get out now.
- Yes, Martin left.
Just at this time, the walkie-talkie on the table starting catching signal. Mr. Sakhawat pulled the aerial and received it.
- The same clue has been found, sir. Over
- Exactly the same? Over
- Yes sir, exactly the same. Over
-Which color is it red or blue? Over
- Blue sir, over
From the other end, the informant said something and Mr. Sakhawat's eyebrows went up. After hearing all this, he noted down the house number and asked the informant to report to him at fifty-six hours.
The police are not getting it.
He thought, then he went out without taking a bath.
After one hour, Sakhawat found himself in front of the victim’s body whose house was in the second floor.
This murder is just like the previous one. According to the forensics’ results, the victim was knocked unconscious after getting hit on the head with a heavy object and the head was severed from the throat with a knife. There were signs of injuries all over his body which indicated that he was tortured terribly before being killed. What could be the reason behind the murder?
He came back to reality to call his junior partner, Robin. Robin is 26 years-old, he has just finished university and joined the police intelligence department. He has bright black hair and is wearing a black shirt with blue jeans with a back brass and black sunglasses.
Sakhawat said with a smile:
- When did you arrive?
- I just came here. So you got something?
- No, I didn't get anything. Beta the big trickster didn't leave any clues.
- A rape case?
- I can't say right now, but I don't think I have seen any signs of rape. Let's talk to the girl's parents.
-Yes, let's go!
The victim’s father, Kalam Khandaker, is a great industrialist while her mother Dilara Begum, is a housewife. They had a son and a daughter. The girl, Jolly, who was the victim has been suffering from insomnia, so they have been giving her sleeping pills. Their son, Jewel is doing business with his father and currently out of the country, but the girl has just graduated from the university.
Sakhawat asked Mr. Kalam,
- We understand your state of mind. We had some questions for the investigation.
- What will happen after investigating?
he started crying,My daughter will never come back
Robin put his hand on them man’s shoulder
- We can’t return the girl, but we will punish the culprit. Don't you want your daughter's murderer to be punished?
- Yes, I want him to be.
-Then tell us everything, openly. What happened last night? Do not leave out any detail no matter how small.
In the meantime, Sakhawat had turned on the recorder.
Mr. Kalam began to speak,
Yesterday, my wife and I went to my aunt Gulshan’s house at night; Jolly was supposed to follow us after, but her aunt did not let her come, and when I told her that she could come if she wanted, she said she was not feeling well, so I didn't force it either. At four o'clock in the morning, the doorman called and filled us in on the situation.
Robin said, Where is your doorman now?
- Outside the gate.
- Call him.
Mr. Kalam called Karim! Karim!
The door man was in his early 50’s. When he heard Mr. Kalam shouting he came running and said
- Yes, sir, were you calling me?
-Yes
Mr. Kalam pointed at us saying they we will ask him some questions, and he needs to answer truthfully.
- Yes, sir.
Sakhawat said Mr. Kalam we want to talk to Karim alone.
Mr. Kalam got up and
