Prophet Yusuf ; The Most Beautiful Man & Interpreter of Dreams - Kids Islamic Books

This is the most detailed and fascinating story in the Quran, involving both human weaknesses, such as jealousy, hatred, pride, passion, deception, intrigue, cruelty, and terror, as well as noble qualities, such as patience, loyalty, bravery, nobility, and compassion.

It is related that among the reasons for its revelation is that the Jews asked the Prophet Muhammadsallallahoalaihiwasallam to tell them about Prophet Joseph/Yusufalaihisalam, who was one of their old Prophets. His story had been distorted in parts and flawed in others with interpolation and exclusions. Therefore, it was revealed in the Qur'an-the last and authentic book of Allahsubhanahuwata'ala- complete in its minute and careful details.

Yusufalaihisalam lived all his life confronting schemes made by the people closest to him. The story of Prophet Yusufalaihisalam inspires you with a feeling for the depth of Allah's power, supremacy, and the execution of His rulings despite the challenge of human intervention.

And Allah has full power and control over his affairs, but most of men know not. (Ch 12:21)

    THE DREAM

Prophet Yusuf alaihi salam was the son of Prophet Yaqoob alaihi salam and Rahel. He had a younger brother named Binyamin. Yaqoob alaihi salam had twelve sons in total. He loved Yusuf alaihi salam and Binyamin more than his other children. This made the other brothers very angry towards them.

The story begins with a dream and ends with its interpretation. As the sun appeared over the horizon, bathing the earth in its morning glory, Yusufalaihisalam awoke from his sleep, delighted by a pleasant dream he had.

Filled with excitement, he ran to his father and related it.

I saw eleven stars in the sky, and the sun, and the moon. They were all bowing down before me. He told his father.

The young Prophet was quite amazed by this dream. He wondered why stars bowed before him. He didn't understand the meaning. Yaqoobalaihisalam was a Prophet, and he understood the meaning of the dream. And he was very happy. His face lit up. He foresaw that Yusufalaihisalam would be one through whom the prophecy of his grandfather, Prophet Ibrahimalaihisalam would be fulfilled, in that his offspring would keep the light of Ibrahim's house alive and spread Allah's message to mankind.

Allahsubhanahuwata'ala has blessed you, Yusuf. The old Prophet told his son. This dream means that you will be given knowledge and prophecy.

    Yaqoobalaihisalam was a wise
