About this ebook

Two souls can heal with the right amount of heat and kink…in or out of the club.

Can old wounds really be healed? Meghan Stone isn't sure. She's at Club Desire at the urging of her agent. As a writer, she needs to add grit to her stories—grit that can only be acquired at Desire. When Meghan spots the handsome man in the suit, she's smitten. After a conversation with him, she's taken by him. But will the sexy man want more than conversation when he learns about her motivations and past?

James Richards comes to Club Desire to forget his own past. He wants a sub and a lover, but as far as he's concerned, that person doesn't exist—until he meets Meghan. She awakens needs he thought were long buried. Once he sees her, he wants to possess her. But a sub and a life-long love aren't always easy to find, especially in the same person. Will she be the one he's searched for or just another face in the crowd?

    Chapter One

Walk in and find the information you need. Meghan Stone stared at the front of Club Desire. She’d made her way into the parking garage, but no farther. She wondered how many other people hesitated before going into the club?

Her editor’s words echoed in her ears. The club won’t hurt you unless you want it to. You’ll enjoy your time there.

    Meghan wasn’t so sure.

What if the people inside laughed at her? She wasn’t exactly model-thin. What if the others in the club refused to help her? Or worse, what if they told her to leave because she wasn’t pretty enough? She groaned. Go figure. Her damn, low self-esteem was giving her hell. She rubbed her arms.

Walk away. Don’t bother. The story will write itself without you going inside. Her head hurt. She’d heard wonderful things about Club Desire. So many people seemed to be getting their needs met—well, according to her agent, Annalise, they were. She hadn’t set foot inside the club but claimed she knew everything about Club Desire. Truth be told, Meg wasn’t sure whether or not to believe her.

Her heart hammered. She could only imagine what went on in the club. Spankings, people bound to the wall, toys...

Her body warmed. She hadn’t admitted her kinks to anyone. Why let someone in when there was a good chance she’d be turned down? Her last boyfriend had laughed at her when she’d asked him to spank her. She wasn’t sure she wanted to go through the same embarrassment.

Her phone buzzed in her hand. She glanced down at the screen. One missed call from Ben. God. Like she needed to hear from him. The man had made fun of her the moment she’d mentioned spanking. He’d said wanting that kind of play was perverse. She sighed. Maybe, she was out of her league...

Footsteps on the concrete behind her grabbed her attention. Meg glanced over her shoulder. Her breath clogged in her throat. The man strolling up to her wasn’t like any other guy she’d met. His business suit clung to his frame as if the silk had been cut just for his body. His blue eyes blazed, and the bit of scruff on his cheeks added to his attractiveness. He was the kind of man she wanted to play with—one who looked suave without being a dick.

Aren’t sure about the club? He nodded to the front door. You look like a scared rabbit.

    I’m uneasy, she confessed.

I assume this is your first time. The man strode up to her. He extended his hand. My name is James Richards. I’ve been here on many occasions. You’ll be fine.

I don’t know. She wasn’t sure about the club, but the more he spoke, the more she longed to hear his accent. Was it British? European? She wasn’t sure.

Why don’t we go inside? The receptionist will certainly answer any questions. She can even set up a tour so you’re not so worried. He slipped her hand into his. You’ll be safe.

Christ. She trembled. From his touch? Or the situation? You sound so sure.

And you don’t. James nodded to the door. If you go into the foyer, they won’t make you stay. There are benches. Why don’t we go inside and talk? If you’re still not sure, you can leave whenever you choose.

She could debate her situation or at least visit the inside of the club. Meg sighed. Sure.

Sure? He tipped his head and grinned. Is that a yes?

    It is.

Wonderful. James led her into the club. Unlike the stark concrete outside, rich burgundy on the walls and thick black carpeting decorated the foyer. The benches featured a gold line of cording at the edges. When he gestured to one of them, she perched on the plush cushion.

She glanced over at the receptionist window. She didn’t see anyone behind the glass. Who do you talk to?

To get in? James pointed to the main door. Once you’re a member, you’ll have a card. You swipe it and go right in. A sensor alerts security if someone tries to slip in.

    Oh.

James crossed the room to the window. A woman appeared. Her bright blue hair shone in the overhead light. She glanced at Meg then handed James an object. Neither of them spoke to Meg, bringing back a bit of her discomfort. After a moment, James turned on his heel and headed to where Meg sat.

This is the tablet to get you started. He offered the electronic device. If you want, I’ll help you.

Thanks. Meg turned the tablet around and swiped her index finger across the screen. Okay...personal information. Didn’t I fill this in when I registered online? She turned the device away from James then inputted the needed info. Why give him details when she barely knew him? She probably wouldn’t see him again once they went into the actual club. I’m on the health history page.

That’s important. The owners insist on keeping the place safe. James leaned back in his seat and crossed his legs. He had such grace when he moved. Everything he did seemed planned out and meant to impress.

She filled in the information then swiped her finger to change the page. Kinks, she blurted. Well, they do get right down to the point, don’t they? She could’ve sworn she’d filled out the information online...

"You get to go inside and mingle. If you’re looking
