For Christina, Charlie, Emily, all of the smiles familiar with the feeling of this story and whom this may concern.

    Chapter 1

I’m not trying to die, I don’t want to die, but the bureaucracy chooses otherwise. If I don’t keep moving, they will find me hiding in this range, not even considering extending my date. They’ll execute me as quickly and ruthlessly as possible. But I’m not letting them do a damn thing to me, not anymore.

The light lines engraved into the rings’ border walls are illuminating red. They are usually viridian; they know I’m on the loose. My turquoise hair and watercolored sleeve tattoos do not blend in with the falling snow up here, neither does my orange prison sweats and black tank top. If an officer spies me, I will be the dictator’s mounted example of all of my people’s eventual fate.

My keeper, Ivan Andrade, made me blow a fuse saying degrading shit to me, believing I wouldn’t eventually attack him. Since he’s the second most important
