This heartwarming tale is of a family reunited at the most familial time, Thanksgiving. The twins have a bridge to cross, the division deep between Lorin who had the best of everything but love and Lyric who was showered with love. I've written since I could hold a pencil, and loved to read before I was five. It's no wonder all those words churning around my head found their way onto to page. My hard drive filled up in 2000. So my husband told me to publish. I did print the stories out and farm them out to friends. Who ganged up on me and I jumped into the publishing world.I retired from HR in the middle of publishing, learned what I was doing (for that moment in time), and found a critique group of teachers. I've learned so much from them and been dragged out of my writing room for conventions and writer weekends.I love to travel with my husband and we still have a bit more ahead. My stories come out of these experiences. Some from the military as I roamed the coastal towns with him when the Navy moved us from base to base. I'm a gypsy by nature and write paranormal romantic erotic stories because it's easier to mask real people behind snouts and fangs.

CHAPTER ONE
Now entering the ring, we have Springboy, a ten year old stallion who’s competed six times and never finished out of the money.
The announcer introduced the next team. Springboy is a thoroughbred/Arab mix it says on my card, but I think there must be some Lipizzaner in his breeding. His build is leaner but stronger than our American Thoroughbreds.
The comments continued and applause from the crowd wove through them. Lyric didn’t give any attention to the announcer or the noise of the crowd. Keeping Springboy calm between her knees remained vitally important. The lights around the arena blocked any sight of the audience gathered to watch the prestigious event. She counted that as one blessing in her favor. Spring wouldn’t see the crowd in the glare.
One day only, Lyric couldn’t pass up the chance to enter the event. She’d found the advertisement at the last minute and had to rush to include them. The day was spent registering. Mounds of paperwork, approval of licensing, and medical checks was behind them.
She needed the money, whether she won first or even third. If she allowed Spring a little more freedom she knew he couldn’t lose. Her Nightmare stallion agreed. He’d been looking over her shoulder as she read the flyer.
They often spoke with their thoughts, mind-to-mind. Most Nightmares had the capability. It developed in their chosen ones when the children matured. He’d been with Lyric for ten years. No time at all in the lifespan of a Nightmare. Lyric had followed a rough path since her father left with her twin many years ago.
Spring chose her because of Lyric’s past. He’d heard her story, unfortunately from the Underworld grape vine. Spring’s heart went out to the child who’d all but been orphaned. His ability to heal worked on physical wounds, but his wisdom helped guide the girl into womanhood.
Let me get this jumping event for you. I know you’re worried. He’d nudged her shoulder as she studied the flyer.
We have to be careful, Spring.
Lyric glanced around to see if anyone was watching the pair.
We can win and travel to Aunt Sunny’s through the night. Springboy rested his chin on her shoulder. It’s only a hundred to enter.
Lyric worried her bottom lip. Springboy wanted to help make up for Lyric’s difficult life. He’d tried but her past was a train wreck of gargantuan proportions. He should just forget the past goddess knew she tried.
You made that bonus you wanted from the website. Spring wheedled.
"The purse for the day is ten thousand." Lyric sounded more positive.
You’d be debt free, for the first time in your life. He’d delivered the comment knowing she couldn’t resist the enticement. Spring turned and walked away from her. You know we can do this. It’s local and not widely publicized. We wouldn’t face many professional competitors. He stopped and turned to look back at her, their gazes catching. It’s a jumping competition, a day before you celebrate Thanksgiving.
I’ll send in the electronic entry form.
Lyric smiled at her Nightmare then walked to his side. Throwing her arms around his neck, she smiled into his warm coat. Don’t let me down.
That was a month ago.
Here they were, Wednesday night, Thanksgiving Eve, entering the first round of jumps.
Come on, Springboy. You know how important this is for us. Let’s show them how it’s done.
Lyric leaned over his neck and gave
