Jenna Ocean Meadows is a free-spirited geek who dreams of visiting Germany someday just to tour the Opel automaking headquarters during the world-famous Octoberfest. It was far past their bedtime. They should have been asleep hours ago, but the constant drum of rain pounding heavily against the windows of their shared room was keeping Violet awake.

At this time of year in Virginia, spring rains were almost a constant, making the trees and grass grow thick and lush, dousing flowers so that the gardens and landscapes sprouted with bright clusters of orange and purple.
