About this ebook
African symbols is a collection of Magnus Oku's poems on Africa, which is a reflection of African wisdom and symbols. His poetry encompasses the wide variety of traditions arising from African countries and from evolving trends within different literary genres.
The poems deal with purging the African continent and recreating the desired. Some poems also address the devastating effect of slavery and colonization. Magnus Okus uses poems to reflect the cries of the past, the present situation, and as well shout for joy for the hope of tomorrow in Africa.

BACK TO AFRICA
The future calls
Here comes light
The sun has shone
On our paths, again
Yes, the sun will yet shine
To usher in the real sons and daughters
The higher yellow moon
Will come out to play
And scare away the darkness
Now our light has covered darkness
Oh, Africa the beloved
Your darkness
Has been turned into light the intruder is gone
So, love has returned to us
We will love and love again
