Promise Me Forever 2 - CoCo Amoure

    1

Yo, I just missed a gang of calls from Phoenix! Raider yelled to Tariq over the noise in the sports bar. Glancing back down at his phone, he noticed that he also had several text messages as well.

Tariq, bruh, we gotta go right now! he shouted. The message said that Phoenix and the girls were in some danger.

Huh, what are you tripping about? Tariq asked with his eyes still glued on the big screen television. They’d been drinking and watching the Falcon’s game while the ladies were back at Raider’s house enjoying Phoenix’s baby shower.

Nah, bruh, something’s wrong. Come on! Raider jumped up from the table and started heading out of the sports bar.

Noticing the serious expression on Raider’s face, Tariq tossed some money on the table, grabbed his coat, and followed Raider out of the establishment.

Once they were seated inside of Tariq’s car, he decided to find out what exactly had Raider on edge.

What’s up, bruh? What’s the emergency? Tariq Inquired.

I don’t know. All I know is when I looked at my phone, I had several missed calls from Phoenix, and then the text message said they were in danger. Man, I hope it ain’t nothing wrong with the baby, Raider sighed, running his hands across his face.

Did you try calling her back? Tariq questioned. He’d begun to worry as well. An uneasy feeling began to settle in the pit of his stomach.

Yeah, but she didn’t answer, he replied.

Tariq used the built-in Bluetooth system in his car, and dialed Promise’s number. When she didn’t answer, he really began to worry.

Tariq pressed his foot down hard on the gas pedal, and sped towards Raider’s crib. His mind had begun to wander. Did the nigga, Meechi, make good on his threat? Why the fuck did I tell Malik he didn’t have to keep an eye on Promise? He internally chastised himself.

Damn, Promise isn’t answering either. I don’t have Janay or Sheena’s numbers. Tariq inhaled deeply. He would never forgive himself if anything were to happen to Promise.

In less than ten minutes, Tariq pulled into Raider’s driveway on two wheels. They both jumped out of the car with it still running. Tariq thought he heard someone crying. He turned around and saw a figure in the darkness slowly approaching them. The closer he got, he noticed that it was Janay.

Janay, what’s going on? Why are you outside crying? He rushed towards her. Raider had already run inside of the house.

They…they took her. Those two grimy mafuckas ran up in here and took her! Janay screamed, falling into Tariq’s arms, crying hysterically.

Who ran up and took who? Tariq asked, fearing the worst. Immediately, he felt his heart rate quicken.

Meechi and his bitch, Yvette! she yelled. Janay was a complete mess. Her face was saturated with tears, and she could barely maintain her composure.

FUUUCCCCKKK! Tariq yelled, throwing punches in the air.

His heart was beating so fast that it felt as if it was going to burst through his chest. Hot tears welled up in his eyes. He thought about all the times that he vowed to keep Promise safe, and now he’d failed her. His worst nightmare had come true.

Raider came rushing out the house. Tariq, y’all need to come inside so we can figure this shit out. Sheena just told me what happened. My woman ain’t doing too well, and if she doesn’t calm down soon, I’mma have to take her to the hospital.

Tariq grabbed Janay by the arm and led her into the house. He needed details. He needed to know exactly what the fuck happened. Blood was about to be shed in the streets of Atlanta.

When they entered the house, Phoenix was crumpled down on the floor in the fetal position, crying. Man, she won’t talk to me. Raider glanced at Tariq with a sullen expression on his face. Baby, talk to me, please? Are you ok? he pleaded.

Phoenix shook her head no, as she continued to cry. She was in a state of shock. One minute, she and Promise were laughing and joking, and within minutes, her baby sister had been kidnapped. Helpless, all she could do was stand there and watch Promise willingly walk out the door with Meechi, all because she wanted to protect Phoenix.

Sheena stood off to the side in silence. She’d been upstairs the whole time the incident was taking place, too afraid to come downstairs.

What the fuck happened? Tariq yelled. He was about to go out of his mind. Everyone was crying, but no one was saying anything.

Bruh, calm down. We don’t need you freaking out. Now is the time for you to keep your head on straight, so we can figure this shit out. I wanna find Promise just as much as you do, Raider calmly advised.

Why didn’t Phoenix call the police instead of calling you? Tariq questioned, narrowing his eyes suspiciously.

Still, no one responded to his questions. He understood that women were emotional creatures, but someone had better start talking, and fast.

Janay wiped her face and attempted to pull herself together. She had no idea that Phoenix had called Raider. How was that even possible? The entire time everything was going on, Phoenix was standing right beside Janay.

Tariq, all I know is that me and Promise were sitting in the family room watching television, and I was texting on my phone. Phoenix was in the kitchen heating up a plate of food, and Sheena was upstairs organizing the baby’s room. Suddenly, there was a loud bang, so I guess he kicked the door in. The next thing I know, Meechi was standing right there where you are now. She pointed.

I jumped up and started going off on his retarded ass, and that’s when he pulled a gun out on us. His bitch, Yvette, stepped out from behind him with a gun pointed on us as well. He told us to shut up and that he came for Promise. When Phoenix and I intervened, he threatened to kill us, and especially Phoenix, if Promise didn’t agree to go with him. A few seconds later, they were gone…with Promise, she explained, before a fresh batch of tears spilled from her eyes.

Tariq intently listened to every word. And Sheena, where were you when all this was happening? he asked. Something about the nervous way she was acting made Tariq suspicious.

Like Janay said, I was upstairs in the baby’s room. When I heard the commotion, I peeked downstairs and I vaguely saw someone threatening them with a gun. That’s when I ran to Raider and Phoenix’s room looking for her cell phone. I’m the one who called and texted Raider to come home, she nervously replied. Sheena was just as shook up as they were.

Why didn’t you call 911? Tariq narrowed his eyes suspiciously. He’d heard what she said, but something still wasn’t adding up.

I was scared and nervous. I don’t know why I didn’t call the police. My first thought was to call Raider. Can’t you understand how scared I was? I’ve never been in that type of situation before. I was terrified, but I figured I needed to remain quiet and call for help instead of helplessly running downstairs, she cried. Sheena had no idea why Tariq was coming at her the way he was.

Bruh, relax. Sheena isn’t to blame here. That nigga Meechi is the one you need to be taking your anger out on, Raider said, patting Tariq on the back.

Yeah, bruh, you’re right, Tariq agreed, calming himself down. For the time being, he decided to let up on Sheena. The most important thing was finding his woman. He wondered if she was hurt. The thought alone caused his heart to ache. There was no time to feel sorry for himself. It was time for action.

Finally, Raider seemed to have calmed Phoenix down. He examined her from head to toe, making sure that she wasn’t hurt. Raider tried convincing Phoenix to go to the hospital to make sure the baby was alright, but she declined. Phoenix sat on the sofa in a daze, rocking herself back and forth, with Raider beside her with his arms wrapped securely around her shoulders.

Janay was cursing and crying at the same time, to no one in particular, while Sheena quietly sat in the corner with her head down.

Tariq paced the floor, beating himself up for allowing the love of his life to be kidnapped by that bitch ass nigga, Meechi. Time was ticking and not in his favor.

Janay, do you think this fool will take Promise back to Augusta? Tariq asked.

Nah, he’s stupid, but not that damn stupid. He knows that Augusta would be the first place that we would look. Plus, he knows that my brothers will tear the city up looking for his ass. I’m about to call them right now. They gon’ kill that bitch ass nigga, on my mama! she yelled. Janay was furious.

Hold up, Janay. I know that Promise is your best friend and that you’ve known her longer than I have, but I love that woman. I want that nigga all for myself. He’s gonna pay dearly for this stunt. That mafucka just don’t know who he’s fucking with, Tariq fumed. He refused to allow anyone else to interfere. Meechi’s ass belonged to him.

I feel you, Tariq, but my brothers will be on standby just as soon I tell them about this shit. Janay understood Tariq’s position. Either way it went, her brothers were still going to light Meechi’s ass up if Tariq didn’t get to him first.

Tariq’s thoughts were in turmoil. He hadn’t the faintest clue where to begin looking for Promise. He began to feel helpless.

Janay, what kind of car were they in? he inquired. Sitting around sulking wasn’t going to bring Promise back. He decided that he needed to keep a cool head and come up with a plan.

I didn’t get a good look at the car because it was dark outside. When I went running down the street, they had already taken off. All I can tell you is that they were in some type of four-door, dark colored sedan, Janay replied.

Damn. I can’t believe this shit. Tariq sighed. If I wouldn’t have told Malik he no longer needed to keep an eye on Promise, none of this shit would have ever happened. He continued to chastise himself. All of this was his fault for sleeping on this bitch ass nigga.

Tariq’s mind was running rampant with thoughts of Promise. He wondered if she was hurt, crying, or even still alive. Shaking his head, he dismissed the dreadful images that were playing out inside of his head.

Raider continued to hold Phoenix in his arms, but his thoughts were also with Promise. If they didn’t find a way to get her back, Phoenix wasn’t going to be any good to herself or their unborn child. The worse thing about the entire situation was that no one even knew where to begin looking for Promise. Atlanta is a big city, and it wasn’t going to be easy tracking her down.

Suddenly, Phoenix jumped up and started pacing the floor. The bewildered expression on her face terrified Raider. I gotta find my sister. Why the fuck is everyone just sitting around? Huh? Why the fuck are y’all standing here looking fucking stupid!! Find my goddamn sister! she yelled. Tears were running down her face, and her arms were flailing about wildly.

Raider immediately stood to his feet. Phoenix, baby, please calm down. Think about the baby that you’re carrying. We are going to find Promise, but you gotta calm down, he coaxed.

He’d never seen Phoenix so unglued before in all the years that they’d been together. But then again, her sister had never been kidnapped before either.

I need my baby sister. I can’t imagine my life without her. I mean, what if something terrible happens to her? What if he…he. Phoenix was too choked up to finish the sentence.

The thought of Meechi killing her sister rendered her speechless.

Come here, baby, and sit down, Raider said, gently pulling her by the hand. Once he led Phoenix back over to the sofa, he sat her in his lap and rocked her like a baby.

Tariq stood off to the side in his own world. The entire moment felt surreal. Just a few hours ago, he had his woman in his arms, and now he didn’t even know where she was. Still, he couldn’t shake the feeling that Sheena knew more than she was saying.

Meanwhile, Meechi sat in the back seat of the rental car as Yvette sped down the highway. A smile of satisfaction covered his deranged face. He’d finally gotten his woman back, and this time he refused to let her go. The entire time she was gone, all he could think about was killing her, but now that he had Promise in his grasp, he wanted nothing more than to take her home and lock her away forever.

So, tell me, did you miss me, baby? he asked Promise, grabbing her roughly by the face. His eyes quickly scanned her body. Even in the darkness, he could see her killer curves. Meechi could hardly wait to beat her walls down. That nigga she was fucking couldn’t do it like him.

Fuck you, Meechi! Promise yelled, glaring at the man she used to love with pure hatred in her eyes. Although she was terrified, Promise refused to show fear. She’d toughened up during the time she’d been away from him. If he
