NOTE TO THE READERS
Welcome to an imaginary journey through early life with the story of Whomus’ experience in the Garden of Uter.
INTRODUCTION: THE ORIGIN OF WHOMUS AND
HIS/HER LIFE IN UTER
The origin of Whomus and his/her life in Uter. Meet Whomus and his/her precursors, Spex and Oy. Look at his/her evolution from a fully dependent being to a mature fetus and a newborn infant ready to grow and contribute to future generations of humans.
THE GARDEN OF UTER AND ITS INTERACTIONS
WITH WHOMUS
A flexible environment which adjusts to the changing size of Whomus, a parody of the uterine cavity.
THE DAILY LIFE OF WHOMUS IN THE GARDEN OF UTER
The untold story of the fetal intrauterine experience is narrated in the description of Whomus’ daily life in the Garden of Uter. How does it feel to spend time alone, waiting seemingly endlessly for the last exit to the outer world?
SHARING SPACE IN THE GARDEN OF UTER:
CAN THAT HAPPEN? OTHER POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS
OF LIFE IN UTER ASSOCIATED WITH IT
How can this happen? Other Possible Complications of Life in Uter Associated with it: What if another fetus was developing next to Whomus? The multifetal experience: twins, triplets, or more.
THE CHALLENGES FACED BY WHOMUS
DURING LIFE BEFORE BIRTH
What if things don’t go well and any of the normal steps in Whomus’ development fails to take place? Abnormal localization of the exchange site at the inner door to the front gate of Uter, or possibility of premature exit of Whomus to the outer world.
THE LAST DAY IN THE GARDEN OF UTER
An appreciation of labor from within, an educated imaginary experience leading to the birth of Whomus, and his/her adaptation to the outer world. The appreciation of events such as uterine contractions presumably perceived by Whomus as disturbances of the wall of Uter, and the whistling noise of amniotic fluid rushing through the front gate of Uter (cervix) when suddenly the veil (membranes) ruptures during the storm-like experience of labor by Whomus.
POSTFACE
Whomus’ story is universal, ubiquitous, personal, and invites us all to appreciate the gift of life and the potential that each one of us has to actively contribute to the continuation of the endless process of life.
GLOSSARY
New terms and phrases created for the story’s narration. These terms were used to describe an imaginary process to present the life of Whomus before birth. They rather represent altered names real human anatomic landmarks and physiologic processes leading to the creation and nurturing of an embryo/fetus until birth.
