- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Tanner by Sarah MayberryAmerican Extreme Bull Riders Tour #1Going into the story, if you read the blurb, you know that Evie will not get the man of her “dreams” and that Tanner will “rescue” her and that they will more than likely find a HEA BUT the story is so much more than just that. Both Evie and Tanner are wonderful characters with personalities that leapt off the page. Their vigor and vitality, charm and character, humor and humanity, intelligence and so much more made them well rounded individuals that were people I could see myself wanting to get to know better – and – I could easily see why the two of them were attracted to one another. Sure, they seemed clueless at times or had quirks to deal with BUT I liked them and liked their story. I had never read a book by this author but will be looking for more of her books in the future. I can also say that as soon as I finished the book I looked to see what the next book in the series was and when it would come out and immediately requested an ARC to read because this is a series that started well and is one I don’t want to miss a book in. Thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review. 5 Stars
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest reviewThis book was just the break I needed from life. It was quick-paced, for me a least, and gave me what I like to call the warm fuzzies. The type of book that makes me cuddle into my blankets and smile. Yeah I went there. Because sometimes it's just nice to read a romance. The characters in this novel can only be described as cute. Evie was easily pictured in my head, and her voice filled it. She is a cute character, with a lot of love in her heart but an actual backbone of steel which I do appreciate it. Tanner is a curmudgeon. But actually a very good, honorable person. Their relationship does grow rather quickly, but I was happy to follow along with the whirlwind romance between these two.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Tanner is the story of Evie Forrester and her quest to surprise the man she has had a crush on for more than 10 years as he rides in the American Extreme Bull Riders' event in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a long way from her home of Forrester Landing in Australia. Evie feels foolish when she sees Troy with another woman. She struggles to find a decent place to stay for the next two weeks as she comes to terms with the fact that Troy never felt for her the way she felt for him.In steps Tanner Harding who takes Evie in when she needs help the most, but it is Evie who ends up helping Tanner when an accident in the rodeo ring leaves Tanner with injuries that may end his rodeo career. This was a good romance with lots of chemistry between Evie and Tanner. I had some problems with the idea that a woman who had almost completed vet school would be senseless enough to go to a foreign country with no plan and land up in the bedroom of a stranger, but other than that minor flaw in the early part of the book, the rest of the story was a well written and an enjoyable, quick read.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I enjoyed this book. It was a quick, easy and entertaining read. If you like cowboys, bull riding and romance this is a good one to read. l have read the next book in the America Extreme Bull Riders Tour and it was also good.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Tanner by Sarah MayberryBook #1: American Extreme Bull Riders Tour SeriesSource: NetgalleyMy Rating: 4½/5 starsMy Review: Tanner Harding has a plan and so far, everything is going according to plan. He’s a successful bull rider and ranch owner who fully intends to retire with at least one more million-dollar season behind him. As the saying goes, we plan and God laughs. Evie Forrester has plans of her own and not anywhere in those plans did she anticipate her boyfriend screwing another woman and leaving her stranded in the States for 10 days. Heartbreak sucks and if it weren’t for the happy accident of meeting Tanner Harding, Evie would be all kinds of screwed. Though she doesn’t really know Tanner, he does save her from a potentially dangerous situation which earns him a measure of trust. Though he is a man of few words, the words he does speak tell Evie he is a kind man with nothing but good intentions. And then he takes off his shirt and it’s not Tanner’s intentions Evie is suddenly worried about. Though he has no intention of taking advantage of Evie, she is certainly easy on the eyes and pretty good company. With her brutal honesty and first-hand experience with her now ex-boyfriend, Tanner is aware of Evie’s situation and aims to help her as much as he can. All he has to do is remember his life plan and not get distracted by the hot little Aussie currently sharing his space. For the first 24ish hours, Tanner has only limited issues sticking to the plan and then Evie gets good and drunk and crawls into bed with him. Drawing on what could only be described as superhuman willpower, Tanner refuses to have sex with drunken Evie, but now knows the door is wide open for a little action. Again, I point out, we plan and God laughs. Tanner and Evie get about 48 hours of bliss before the world turns upside down and right side out. Tanner is on the cusp of winning yet another rodeo event when he is a part of a devastating accident that threatens both his future bull riding career and his life. Evie is a good person and knows the right thing to do when she sees it and caring for Tanner is the right thing to do! He not only needs help during his hospital stay, but he’ll need a ride from Oklahoma to Colorado, and someone to be with him for at least a week. Evie’s already stranded and Tanner has been good to her so there’s no way she will abandon the battered, broken, and incredibly stubborn man. Caring for an injured man is hard to do under the best of circumstances and Evie and Tanner are by no means under the best of anything. After two long days on the road, Tanner has added angry, bitter, and resentful to his list of emotions. He likes Evie, but he doesn’t want to have to depend on her (or anyone!) for his comfort and care. However, Evie is equally stubborn and knows the man under all the anger, bitterness, and resentment. With patience and what she quickly realizes is love, Evie dives right in and makes herself a part of Tanner’s world. What Tanner quickly realizes is that Evie has somehow become a part of his life plan and he just doesn’t know how to handle that information on top of everything else. What they both realize is Evie’s time in the States is rapidly coming to an end and if one of them doesn’t speak up, all the plans and the feelings and all the desire is going to be lost. The Bottom Line: I usually find the first book in a new series a bit difficult to really like, but I didn’t have that problem with Tanner. Both Evie and Tanner are wonderful characters who were so easy to get behind and root for! Where Tanner is the strong silent type, Evie is a bit more vocal though no less strong. I like the very unusual circumstances around their meeting and I particularly liked the twist causing Evie to travel to Tanner’s ranch with him. While this could have been a train wreck, Mayberry smoothed this path and created a natural progression rather a contrivance to keep the two together. At the end of the day, this is a sweet love story with some heat to it and I enjoyed every minute of Tanner!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I really enjoyed reading the American Extreme Bull Riders series debut. I'm intrigued by the concept of each book being authored by someone different. I think it is going to be so much fun to read about all the different bull riders and it will guarantee they each have a unique voice. The debut is a strong one. Tanner is an all around good guy who seems to almost always do the right thing. If you love the good guy you will want to pick this up. If you like a bad boy then Tanner might be a little boring for you, but I still think you should give him a try :) He is just so genuine and easily won my heart.Evie is a great female lead who seems levelheaded and kind, even after the discovery she made at the start of the book. She traveled across the world for what she thought was true love to only end up devastated. She could have been bitter. Yes, she was guarded, but she kept such a great outlook even with the turmoil she was experiencing. Tanner steps in to help, because that just seems to be his way, and finds he needs Evie in his corner just as much as she needs him.I adored watching the romance develop between Tanner and Evie. It was slow and sweet and when they finally come together you can't help but say "Awe". This was a great series start and a quick read. I'll definitely read the rest of the books in this series.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Evie comes to the U.S. to surprise her boyfriend, Troy, only to find his with a buckle bunny. Tanner, a bull rider, realizes what is going on and shields her so Troy does not see her, and she can pull herself together. Knowing she does not have much money and with Tanner seeing her going to a cheap motel in a bad section of town, he takes it upon himself to watch over her. Sharing a hotel room, they let their attraction loose. When tragedy hits Tanner, Evie takes over and makes plans to get him home. She also knows she has time to kill before going back of Australia and figures she can repay his kindness by taking him home. She ends up fitting in very well at his ranch and in his life. Will she stay? I enjoyed this book. It moved fast. I liked Evie and Tanner a lot. Troy was a jerk but that was good because Tanner and Evie would have never met. Both were strong willed and stubborn. Both wanted what they wanted. It was fun to watch who would win each time. I liked that they were reticent about their feelings since they only knew each other two weeks. But I did love the ending. I liked that they looked to the future and not just the present.I look forward to more books from this author.

Evie arrives from Australia to surprise her boyfriend, only she is the one surprised. Tanner has no reason to concern himself with this naïve young woman, but he can’t seem to help himself. And so, begins the budding relationship of Tanner, the gentleman cowboy & the sweet, somewhat naïve, Evie. With Tanner saving her from an embarrassing, and potentially dangerous, situation to Evie returning the favor after Tanner’s injury. I loved both of these characters. I was provided a copy of this book from LibraryThing in exchange for my honest review.
