Chapter 1
The Letter
Chantal ‘Codie’ Bludspri, was a rather shy and quiet 16-year-old teenage girl, hiding behind a dark, tough exterior. Her locks, looked like they were black, but in the light, her long mane took on a dark blue hue. Her eyes were emerald green, which gave a touch of honey-class to her eyes. Fangs protruded from her mouth every now and then, and a near pale complexion haunted her skin. Chantal walked down the hall of her high school, with her four friends: two blondes, a redhead, and the last one with pure black hair.
The first blonde was tall, and her hair had natural green streaks, even though people did not know how the heck her hair would be natural green. Her eyes had a soft mint green tint, almost matching her hair.
The second blonde, was the same height as Chantal, not too tall but not too short either. The color of her hair was exquisite; shaded platinum with a touch of pastel rainbow, to give her hair an almost white look. Her hair was really long, reaching down to her knees. Her eyes had the same color as Chantal’s eyes, emerald green.
The redhead, was short, with semi-short hair that took on the shades of red, but when people looked closely, it was actually a deep shade of purple. Her eyes were shaded with a purple hue, and she sang like a bird that made most men in the school just fall for her voice, and it lasted till she stopped. Once she stopped singing, the men would snap out of their daze.
The last girl with the long black mane, had a porcelain complexion. Her eyes were red, as blood and rubies. She had fangs, and a very unearthly look to her.
When they got to their lockers, Chantal noticed a note taped on her locker. Before taking the note, she put her books into her locker, grabbed her backpack, closed the locker door, and then grabbed the note. Her face flushed with embarrassment, on knowing that someone would tape a love note on her locker. She proceeded to open the note, and began to read it carefully.
Well, what does the note say?
the tall blonde asked.
Chantal looked at her friends, who were all waiting anxiously for the answer. She took a deep breath, and proceeded to read the note out loud to her friends. "It says: ‘Dear Codie, ever since I laid my eyes on you, I have fallen in love with you. I would love it, if we could meet at MacArthur Park, at sundown tonight.’ And that is about it," Chantal said, shrugging her shoulders.
Chantal, I really don’t know about this whole meeting thing,
the second blonde spoke up.
Liz, what could possibly go wrong? It is a love note!
Chantal said.
I don’t know, but I sense something is wrong. Please! If a person really liked you, he would hang around you more often and get to know you, not leave a note that you have no idea who it is from,
Elizabeth said simply. Please be on your guard tonight,
she begged, taking out a small can of bear spray. Here, keep this on you, and use it when you need to,
Elizabeth said, folding Chantal’s fingers over the small can.
