- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5In a future age, massive and highly mechanized cities have replaced man's traditionally rural lifestyle. This short novel concerns a young couple's descent from the middle class to the depths of working class society. As always, Wells' story telling is outstanding... the novel flows quickly and smoothly. However, the book is much about Wells' views on societal class structures than science fiction. Not his best work, but still an enjoyable read.
