About this ebook

Double Feature 1 - Lost Souls, brings together two creepy stories about a lost girl and a lost boy. In Kendra, a young heavy metal fan extracts a heavy toll of revenge. In Lost in the Attic, Cal pays dearly for a stolen pleasure.

Kendra
“Hey guys," I said. "What's up? Kendra came in ages ago."
Paul gave Dylan a look. Dylan asked, "Kendra is here?"

Kendra and the heavy metal band Bloodrainne were always together. She was their mascot and number one supporter. Until that dark Saturday afternoon when she arrived early and alone...

Lost in the Attic
One day, the old man was going to end it. There was nothing else for him to do.
So many times, Cal just sat there, swaying numbly, thinking, he must be getting his courage up for the kill.

Cal's been kept locked up in the attic for ages, chained and subject to the whims of his jailor, the old man. But one day, the old man stops coming and Cal imagines that he can hear other voices in the rest of the house...

    About the Author

    KENDRA

Kendra breezed into Harley's a little before one. Way early. But that was just like Kendra. Always that slight edge of unpredictability. Always that element of surprise.

We were still busy hauling cases of beer into the fridge. The liquor store delivery had been late. We were expecting a bigger-than-average crowd - what with Bloodrainne playing – and there was a lot to haul.

Kendra's whirlwind arrival was a good sign, though. The rest of the band always followed in her wake.

How many times had she not come tearing up those stairs - purple highlights in her hair flying, going, I'm gonna burst if I don't go now. A leisurely ten minutes later, Dylan, Paul and the rest, would stagger in under the weight of their gear.

Kendra was about as much Bloodrainne as the four heavily tattooed young guys who stood on the stage and played the music. She was harbinger, muse and ambassador, rolled into one. She designed their fliers and always made sure there were lots of them around. Although most bands used Gio Botticelli to mix their sound, she could probably do his job better, when it came to Bloodrainne. Several of the early gigs, she was right there by the desk, arguing because the double bass sounded too flat and could he please do something about that hissing whistle on the mike, because it's going to mess up that hectic bit of chanting in the middle of Battle Cry. And when they began to play, she was right up front in the mosh-pit. Everybody respected
