    Chapter One

Guillermo, how was your day? I asked.

Finally, I was back in the comfort of my Bentley after another day at work. I loved my job at Mark and Finlay Advertising, and it has brought me this far. There I was, a farm boy from Texas living the American dream in Hollywood, California. However, working at the top of the industry meant that I had to meet and talk to a lot of fickle-minded celebrities, and that was even when they showed up sober.

He pulled the car to a halt in front of an Italian restaurant in the middle of Korea town. He was a man with a weird taste.

He smiled at me from the rearview mirror and said, We are here, señor.

    Wow, I managed to say.

I tried to hide my surprise from Guillermo who was studying my face through the rearview mirror.

I met my wife here while I worked here as a busboy, he said.

    Special place then, uh?

    Sí señor, special place.

"Thanks, Guillermo. If this is a good place to park the car, you can head
