Echoes of New York

This short story is part of “Of sun and moon”, the III volume of the Trilogy ‘Love marathon’. The main character of the last volume, Magnolia, unveils part of the history of her friend Malucha, killed during a sexual encounter by a Swede. Malu went through the worse traumas a child should not face. All that is revealed by her half brother Armando. Shocked by all that, Magnolia tries to overcome her sadness helping Maniro, the main character of the II volume “Menkori’ and her daughter Cheryl. The young woman was like a daughter for Malucha and has formed her personality.
There is a time for mourning and a time to heal the wounds.
The last is what Magnolia and Maniro try to do in New York, helping Cheryl to organize her new apartment at the Galaxy towers.
The three women talk about the past, the present and the future full of opportunities for Cheryl working at an ecological organization and pursuing a Master at the University of New York.
The epilogue audio resumes this short story ‘Life is fragile, like a sigh. Today all is joy and smiles. Tomorrow brings the tears from our past.
Nobody escapes destiny. We can’t erase wounds, imposed, inflicted on us and branded in our infancy’.
