Ben D

Author that has a very long urban fantasy series in my head and pushes it out on a bi-monthly basis. With enough support from my fans I can afford to push it to a monthly series.

Her evening had started so well. A twilight jaunt through the Wisp Forest should have been an excellent start to her vacation. But the pouring rain that her mud-soaked shoes slosh through as she traverses the dark and twisting forest has been anything but relaxing.

A pair of muscular hounds approach from opposite directions. They come to a stop in front of her and transform into a pair of twins.

The eerie, dancing orbs of light that have given the forest its namesake have been notably absent tonight. Was it because of the storm or something else? But that was then and this is now. She would never put herself or her own safety before either sibling. But in this moment someone, somewhere in this confusing forest needed help. In order to find them she needed the twin’s tracking skills. So she summons up as much leadership that she can muster, hoping that it is enough to be contagious. Let’s go.

It’s enough. Jayden’s eye glint and change from a forest green to sapphire blue. Clarice’s eyes do the same but from sapphire blue to forest green. In near-perfect unison both change back into hounds and take off southwest towards the scream. At least she thinks they are travelling southwest. Without the use of a compass she was not exactly sure where true north is. So she has been using the direction she was facing when they first heard the
