Introduction
I have always felt that I had a soul mate. It is from that feeling and the realization that he does exist, that the story of Journey into Forever has evolved.
I believe that each of us is a part of a whole. Somewhere out there, there exists our other half, and when we are joined with them, we become complete.
It is said that our souls never die. Reincarnation allows our souls to return to the physical realm time after time. Unfortunately, we do not bring back the memory of our past lives as we live our present. True love, however, always finds a way for soul mates to meet. It is as if they are drawn to each other and as if the universe plays its part in reuniting them.
This story follows the reincarnated lives of two souls. They have lived in Egypt, Africa, and modern-day America. It is within this current lifetime that some of their past lives have been revealed.
Their life in Egypt was that of royalty; their life in Africa was tribal, captured and sold into slavery. Finally, they are reunited in this present time. They are two people who are drawn to each other in spite of all the obstacles that threaten to keep them apart.
Take this journey with them—their lives in the past and present and in the poems that speak to a love that knows no bounds, a passion that is all-encompassing, and a devotion unto death that they both share.
I thank God for allowing me to tell their story and for the love he has placed in our hearts to love him first and then each other.

My husband had died. I cannot believe it, but it’s true. Word came to me this morning, and I am in a state of shock and disbelief. I wonder how I will be able to live without him. He was so much a part of me that I don’t know how I will function without him. For the past fifteen years, I have lived the life of a woman who was in love and was loved.
My name is Sekhet; it all began when I was given as part of a peace offering. There was an uprising about the noble men in the northern section of the country. They were rebelling about the taxes that were levied on them and having to turn over land that had been in their families for generation. After a brief battle with the king’s army, the rebellion was put down, and a compromise was arrived at. My father and several other nobles, in an effort to restore their status and to assure the king that they were loyal subjects, prepared a token of peace that was to be represented to the king. It included three young women, some of the finest horses and cattle that our region raised, pottery, jewelry, and spices. I was seventeen years old when all of this transpired. I remember the day I arrived at the court of the king. It was all so overwhelming. The palace was magnificent; all around the court was bustling. Soldiers, in their military splendor, lined the inner and outer court. All around were people beautifully clothed and attending to matters of the court. I had been raised in luxury, but I had never seen anything like this before in my life.
As we were admitted into the king’s presence, I could scarcely contain myself. I was so afraid of what may happen to me. All my family and friends have been left behind; no more was I to return home. I summoned all my courage as my father and I, along with the other nobles that accompanied him and all the servants carrying the gifts, stood before the king. He was seated and was surrounded by his sons and other members of his court. The room was magnificent with columns of ivory and its floor of shining marble. Statues of all our gods were placed throughout the room, and the king’s guards with swords in hand stood stern face throughout the room. My father greeted him with respect and honor befitting His Majesty. I and the others were presented, and I also showed my respect as expected of any subject. The tokens of peace and loyalty to the king were accepted. As I stood there, I was aware of the eyes searching my face. I looked, and my eyes contacted his. I felt my breath caught in my throat. It was one of the king’s sons. He seemed to be the younger of the two. Those eyes were so intense; I shifted mine and dared not to be considered disrespectful. I kept my eyes lowered and did not look in that direction again.
All ceremonies completed, I bid farewell to my father, and I was escorted to my chamber. For the next couple of weeks, I tried to become familiar with my surrounds. I was now part of the household of Prince Aapep. I was lucky that I was able to keep two of my personal servants. One of whom, Apu, was like a mother to me and looked out for me. She bought me all the information she heard. There were other servants that were assigned to me, but I trusted my own. I missed my home and my family but understood that I had to set my mind and focus on what was ahead of me. I was an only child; I must admit that I was spoiled. My father adored me, and I got whatever I wanted. I love my father, and when he explained to me what he and the other noblemen were going to do to restore their statue with the king, I agreed to it.
I was secretly wishing that I would marry a prince and become a princess. I must admit that becoming a minor wife was not what I had in mind. I didn’t think of that as I thought of all the things I would do in the palace. As a minor wife, my apartment was beautiful; the furniture was handmade, the walls were covered with paintings, and the floors were, in some areas, marble and in other places were wood, polished to a magnificent shine. My bedroom was also very lovely with a big bed. Vases of flowers adorned the rooms, and I had personal servants that took care of my needs. It was all very grand, but there is still no place like home. I knew it would take some getting used to. As I thought about it, I realized that I have lived a sheltered life all this time. I had never been exposed to anything like this, and it was all new to me.
For the most parts, all the members of his household were friendly to me, some more than the others. My servant, Apu, was not as trusting as me and would remind me to be very cautious until I know who can be trusted and become more secure in my surrounds. As the days wore on and I became more comfortable, I began to wonder which son was this Prince Aapep. Was he the one with those deep, penetrating eyes? I knew he was the younger son, but it was hard for me to tell which one was younger. They both look to be about the same age. I figure I would soon find out.
I had been there a month before I was finally summoned to his apartments. As I entered the room, he was standing next to the window. It overlooked the courtyard below and over the landscape of trees, and a beautifully laid-out garden that stretching all the way to the river. The light reflecting off lit lamps seemed to give him this glow all around his body. I stood there, and as he turned his face to me, I almost fainted. It was him. He called me to his side. I approached, bowing gracefully; my eyes were lowered to the floor. He took my hand and raised me up to stand, facing him. That first day I saw him, he was fully dressed in his military attire. Now, at this moment, his headdress was removed to reveal long thick black hair just above his shoulders. Now just wearing his kilt, I could see his strong muscular body. His eyes were dark and mysterious, his eyebrows were thick, his nose was strong, and his lips were full. He was handsome, dark like the rich soil of the Nile, and tall. I became immediately lost in the depth of his eyes.
He handed me a glass of wine and beckoned me to sit. I took the wine and sat across from him. The apartment was beautiful with the richness of the furniture, the drapes, and tapestry on the walls. He dismissed the servants, leaving us all alone. I took a sip of my wine; I needed it to calm my nerves. My heart was racing; my head was in a whirl. All the while, his gaze never left my face. He inquired as to whether I was adjusting to my new home; he asked how I have been treated. I thanked him for asking and said that I was doing my best, and I missed my home and family. He finished his wine and got up. As he started toward me, I rose to my feet. Just as quickly, he took me in his arms and kissed me on my forehead then on my eyes, my neck, my cheek, and finally my lips. I stood there, my eyes and lips closed.
Open your eyes,
he said. I did; his face was so handsome and his lips were so sensual. Open your lips.
I did. His tongue brushed the length of my mouth and gently entered my mouth. I gasped and started to tremble. He withdrew his tongue and held me close to his bosom. Don’t be afraid. I am not going to hurt you,
he said. As I stood there, his arms wrapped around my waist. The scent of his body was so sweet, I could feel the beating of his heart. Just to inhale the scent of his breath left me intoxicated. He inhaled the fragrance of my hair and my body. You are so beautiful,
he said. Interestingly, I have heard so many say that, but coming from him, it meant so much to me. I guess that was one of the reasons I and the other two young women were chosen as part of the peace offering—for our beauty. I would also like to think that it was for our intelligence and charm.
He continued to hold me, his lips raining kisses all over me. He released me, took my hand, and led me into his inner chamber. The room was dimly lit and filled with the scent of jasmine. There were vases of jasmine and other flowers throughout the room. His bed was covered with a canopy of beautiful sheer garnet-color material. He slowly started to remove my clothes. All the while, he was looking at every expression my face revealed. I am sure he knew I had no previous experience of intimacy with a man, and he was taking his time. I wondered about this; he was my master, he was in control, and he could do whatever he wanted. He didn’t have to care about my feelings and take the time. I would find out later just how sensitive and caring a person he was, and it was these things that caused me to love him so passionately and deeply.
By now, I was down to my sheer underclothes. He lifted me up and placed me in the middle of the bed. I felt like nothing in his arms. He was so
