About this ebook
At 42 years old, Winona did not expect to wake up every day boiling with rage, her soul gasping for whatever it is a soul needs to breath. She may be at the top of her game, feared by the men around her, her bank account ever growing, but the metropolitan glamour she once craved is slowly killing her. Can a walk down memory lane, through the dusty gravel of an old farm road, bring her peace? The man she finds there just may know how to tend her needs, how to ease her pain like a lamb in his care, but can she give herself up to his workman’s hands, can she trust him to sheer away life’s chaotic layers till the woman she once was is free? And if she does, will there be anything left inside her worth finding?

For the people who can’t figure out what’s missing in their life
Anger.
It snarled and snapped inside of Winona, but though the word was right, it didn’t do the feeling justice.
Venom, rage, and reckoning were closer to the point. Hate crackled around her as she charged out the old limestone building she’d descended upon an hour earlier, descended to ream and to ravage, to eviscerate an entire wing of academics and grant managers who’d stupidly lost twenty million-dollars in USDA funding she’d maneuvered, politicked, and busted her forty-two year old ass for a year earlier.
Fucking Idiots!!!
she screamed into the air, oblivious to the shocked college students who streamed past her on the sidewalk.
A creaking door behind her caused Winona to turn. One of the recent reamees was trying to sneak out, his terrified face clearly indicating he hadn’t realized she was there until it was too late.
For Christ’s sake,
Winona screamed at him, her hands cutting through the air "I fucking handed that to you. I gift wrapped three fucking years of funding for your cocksucking department, and all you had to do was turn in your fucking, goddamned, idiot accounting report on time!!! I called you last week to remind you!!!! How do you fuck that up?!?!"
The man was caught between sheer terror and the overwhelming embarrassment of being thoroughly emasculated just yards away from a shuttle stop filled with his own students. Kids were taking out their phones and adding his lashing to the foreverness of social media. Backing up submissively, he proceeded to fall flat on his ass.
The maroon sweatered fool started to stammer an apology, but Winona cut him off. No! No! You don’t get to talk,
she said as she stomped towards him. Your tongue is mine, and I deem it shit.
She hissed the S
of the word out fang bared lips, her finger thrust accusingly in his face. I hope you saved that diploma they printed your doctorate on because you’ll be needing it to wipe your ass now that your whole freaking department has no funding for the rest of the fucking fiscal year. Write a paper that fixes that!
Uggh,
she screamed in exasperation, her fist clenched. Why am I always cleaning up everyone else’s shit?!?!?!
A queue of other reamees from the meeting was forming in the entryway behind the glass doors. They were amazed at what they were seeing and too chicken shit to try and stop it. The well gutted man who’d fallen on his ass stood up and looked back towards the door and his colleagues then off towards the shuttle bus that was pulling up to the corner. He desperately needed to run but was terrified Winona would berate him if he didn’t go the way she wanted. Hopeless, he twirled back and forth like a moron.
Oh, for Christ’s sake,
Winona moaned, make a fucking decision.
The man just froze, unable to follow even that simple command. Winona pulled off one of her red soled stilettos and chucked it at his head.
GO!!!!
she screamed as it nailed him between the eyes. The incompetent academic took off running across the street towards an alley. Halfway there, he tripped on a set of stairs, and his fat ass rolled down the steep embankment until it crashed into the front of the library. The other idiots in the entryway just opened their eyes in shock, bouncing up and down like Beaker from the Muppets.
Worthless,
Winona shot at them, the sharpness of that word good enough to slice. People were starting to stare
