About this ebook
What would you do?
Staff Sergeant Andrew Page misses his kids. He thinks about them every moment he gets, even though he's missed more birthdays than he'd care to admit.
The war against the Resistance isn't going well. It's forced the Republic to cut corners and keep him out longer than he'd expected. He's a father, though he doesn't feel like one.
When an intruder is discovered on their transport vessel, Page and his fellow Republic Marines have to decide what to do and how to survive.
In the end, Page is faced with a choice. He can live with a secret he can never reveal, or die and take it to his grave.

It was easier than explaining that he only played the game when he was thinking about his kids.
They were millions of miles away with their mother, hopefully. Her new boyfriend seemed like a decent man, based on what his son and daughter said about him. He worked for the Republic. He had some big-time cushy job which allowed him to buy nice things for his new family. It took a special kind of man to treat someone else’s kids like they were his own. In a way, they were. Spare cards would keep the men busy throughout the long flight through space. With the war against the Resistance, the Republic had to commission slower civilian ships to transport troops between duty stations.
His unit, the Red Drakes, had taken such a beating, the Republic had split the
