Few years after the queen of the kingdom died at childbirth, leaving the new born daughter, Princess Rosalita, the king remarried to Princess Adriana from another kingdom. The new queen and her evil cohort  made the lives of  King Radocon, Princess Rosalita and her spouse, Prince Bravo from Nicolandia, a living hell. They almost lost everything had in not been for the mysterious Wand, the Scepter and the Rod.

Preface

The predominant part of the story is the Wand, a powerful and mysterious weapon also known as a scepter or a rod. The Wand can cut, pierce, slice or get through any object in silence, unlike the Light Sabers which can produce sparks and crushing sound when used to hit any hard object.

The Wand shows no bleeding when it pierces or cut through flesh or any living tissue, nor is it affected by any warm or cold water. It neither burst into flame when dip into any liquid or any combustible substance like gasoline and oil. It glows in darkness illuminating its surroundings.

The Wand originates from space. It is a piece of core from an unanimated star. As a star loses its purpose, it turns into a supernova. The core will expand until a titanic explosion occurs and as it erupts, it will be the biggest explosion of its kind in space, bursting in all directions of the galaxy.

Every now and then, a tiny piece of the collapse star hits the planet. The tiny falling star passes through the earth’s crust and mantle, trapped at the planet’s own core, thereby sustaining the earth’s energy from being drained.

The Wand existed when a tiny piece of star from a supernova reached our solar system and plunged straight into the planet.

In the story, unlike any previous falling star, its destination to the center of the earth is stopped by a young beautiful maiden with an unblemished mind and immaculate soul, an innocent woman whose heart is purer than the falling energy itself.

Chapter One

Roscondia Kingdom

Once upon a time, there was a kingdom called Roscondia, ruled by a kind hearted and benevolent king named King Radocon Zurc.

The King was gifted with a lovely and an endearing wife, Queen Riorosa who was much adored by their loyal subjects due to her kindness and tenderness.

In spite of the King and the Queen not having a child for more than ten years of marriage, they never lose hope that there would be a special day, when their royal child would come.

And the day came, when the Queen learned from the palace physician that all the dizziness, she was experiencing for several months were signs that she was carrying a baby.

The royal family and all the population in their entire kingdom rejoiced when they heard that the Queen was bearing a child.

King Radocon embraced the Queen and whispered to her ear! Thank you, my lovely queen, for giving me and the kingdom an heir to the throne!  In Roscondia, the first born, regardless of sex, inherit the kingdom.

A royal feast was held where the entire populace was invited. There was so much laughter, food, games, dancing and merriment.

The King and the Queen who were so excited for the expected arrival of their child proceeded to the palatial garden after the feast, gazing at the beautiful stars in heaven while seated on the pagoda.

My Queen, few months more and we will have our child. I can hardly wait to hold and rock our baby in my arms. King Radocon said as he gently touched the tummy of his wife, the queen.

Oh! The baby moved! Did you feel it my royal highness? The Queen heard the excitement on the King’s voice.

Yes, indeed! Our royal baby is moving! The King was so overwhelmed as he kissed her queen’s tummy. As if in response, the child inside the Queen’s belly responded and moved again. Both of them were highly amused. They gave each other a tender loving kiss and happily went inside the palace.

My Queen, you better get to bed now, as you and our child need rest! The King said gently to his queen. He became over protective of her since her pregnancy.

As they laid gently on their bed, the Queen can’t help but ask, Your highness, what is the name you plan to give our child? The Queen asked, her eyes filled with love for her dearly beloved king.

If our child is a boy, we will call him Prince Conrad, a name from my ancestor. On the other hand, if our child is a girl, we will call her Princess Rosalita, after your name. The King hugged the Queen and kissed her goodnight so she could rest. He loved and adored her so much.

Several months passed and the schedule of the Queen’s delivery was due.

Queen Riorosa had a long and exhausting labor. The physician and the assisting maiden were doing their best for the Queen to have a safe delivery. However, the Queen was having a difficult time delivering the royal child

The King was advised to stay outside the delivery room, so he would not be so worried. He was walking to and pro praying for the safe delivery of his child, as well as his beloved queen.

He was silently in prayer when the King heard the sound of an infant crying. The Queen had delivered! He almost ran going inside their room. He saw the baby kicking being attended to by the physician’s assistant.

King Radocon immediately went to his queen and gently kissed her forehead. There was no response as usual! She looked so pale, tired and restless.

The physician and the lady in waiting were busy attending to her. They didn’t see any problem when she delivered the baby.

The King was speechless as he held the Queen’s hand. He kissed her on her cheeks and on her forehead and whispered!

Your highness, my beloved wife, my queen, our child is safely born!

Queen Riorosa whispered softly, as she struggled to speak. Yes, our Princess Rosalita is born. My king, please take good care of our princess! The Queen paused for few second.

Always remember, my dear husband, King Radocon, that I love you!" The Queen gently closed her eyes as if to sleep, but the physician knew the Queen of their kingdom rested in peace. It was too late when they found out that the Queen had a sudden internal bleeding.

Kings were not meant to cry. But King Radocon did, calling the name of his queen. He got a daughter, but lost his wife. What was the use of a blessing if it was coupled with a curse?

He then heard the voice of his new born princess crying as if resenting what his mind had just said.  

The King, his knees shaking, slowly stood up and walked towards the newborn princess, who was on the arm of her nanny.

King Radocon touched her small little fingers and played with it... and the little princess kept quiet.

The baby princess was so beautiful. She was a spitting image of her mother, Queen Riorosa. His royal highness took her from the nanny and carried her on his arms as he strolled back to the bed where the queen was peacefully laid.

He knelt down with the Princess on his arm and whispered to the Queen who looked so serene and at peace. I promise you my beloved queen that I will take care of our princess. Rest in peace my dearly beloved wife. Thank you for giving me.... Princess Rosalita! And the King kissed the Queen on her forehead and cried with all his might.

The entire kingdom mourned for several months. Black flags were seen in every household. Solemn and ritual services were heard in all corners of each village. All their loyal subjects grieved. She was a big loss to them. She would be greatly missed by the people whom she cared for with all her heart.

Queen Riorosa was finally interred at the Royal Highness Mausoleum. It took years for King Radocon to stop grieving and got back to his original genial self.

During those eras, wars among neighboring kingdoms were common. Treaties were made but even before the inks would dry, the signatories were choking at each other’s throat again.

The King called for a meeting with Duke Gregor Seyer, one of his close advisers to confide with him the recurring war in different cities. He wanted peace, harmony and growth, but it seemed so far-fetched to achieve.

He heard a gentle knock on the door. It was the personal palace attendant.

Your royal highness, King Radocon, Duke Gregor and his wife, Duchess Margaret are at the palace conference chamber waiting for you!

Thank you, Almira, let them know I will be there in few minutes! The King talked to his servants in the palace with congeniality and respect.

Yes, your highness! Maiden Almira bowed and left to inform the guests.

Time for the King was precious, so he immediately went to meet with the Duke and the Duchess.

Peace be with you King Radocon. I received a message that you want to see me? Duke Gregor said as he bowed his head courteously.

Peace be with you, your royal highness. If the subject matter of your invitation is private and personal, I can go to the garden to see and smell the flowers! Duchess Margaret, a good friend of the King since childhood, amiably suggested laughing.

It is alright. I need both your advice on some matters about the empire! The King trusted the couple. They were honest people with good hearts. A rarity among the royal ranks.

The couple sat down as the royal highness requested. They waited for what the King would say next. He took a long sigh before he spoke what was bothering him.

I am highly upset with all the wars going on with different kingdoms. It is more a power play which really puzzles me. I want peace for the sake of the people I govern. Wars rob the common people of what is dear to them. They lose more than the royal families! The King said almost in a whisper, as if he was talking to himself.

That is so true, your royal highness! Is there anything we can do to help? The Duke sounded so concerned and sincere.

Actually, that was what I was supposed to ask from both of you. The King was being honest.

He counted Duke Gregor and Duchess Margaret as among his trusted overlords. The couple were God fearing and loved by their people. What he wanted now and needed was their opinion on the subject that concerned not only the King but the people as well.

Have you tried signing up a treaty with other kingdom, your majesty? The Duke asked.

Yes, but it didn’t work. They violated the agreement even before it was implemented! There was disappointment on the King’s voice, which was as well reflected on his face.

Have you considered getting married again your royal highness?  Ooops! I’m so sorry, King Radocon, please forgive me for my insensitive question! Duchess Margaret herself was surprised why she suddenly barged into their conversation. But it might help solve your concern! The Duchess decided to continue what was running on her mind.

Is there something you are not telling me my beloved Duchess? The Duke asked his wife jokingly.

What I will reveal today should only be among the three of us. I promised someone not to tell her secret to anyone, not even to my own husband! The Duchess was blushing.

No problem with me! Promised the King. I can keep secrets! And he looked at the Duchess waiting.

I know of someone who have feelings for you, your royal highness! She is influential and could help you run the kingdom! Duchess Margaret finally said.

Secret feeling for me? King Radocon was highly intrigued!

Yes, your royal highness... Secret feelings for you! The Duchess’ face was reddish with humiliation, as her husband the Duke was trying hard not to laugh.
