About this ebook

The first short story inside the collection is "The Orchard of Embers" Which follows a young couple attempting to mend their issues when infidelity sparked a flame between the two. As the wife attempts to cope and move past, she is found surrounded with a reminder she can not escape, till one day she snaps and takes matters into her own hands.

Turning the pages, after finishing the first story, you would be met with the "The Spectre Necklace" which is one of many short stories, a series following a young gypsy girl who's soul is trapped inside a collar bound by magic. This particular story is the prequel to the series, fleshing out how she came to be in this necklace and what her moral life consisted of.

The final story you would stumble upon in this collection of stories is a short story named "The Red Forest" following a woman in a fantasy medieval time. Known to be a rose amongst her family, only to be plucked and wither away under the cold harsh hands that destroyed the beauty in which she was, and created a new player in the game.

Author

Jaquelyn Collins

J.L Collins is an aspiring fiction author who’s currently taking the first steps of many in the career path of her dreams. Starting her affections for writing in North Hardin High School, publishing things for the school’s literary magazines and Yearbook, before graduating and jumping into Full Sail University to obtain her bachelors in Creative Writing. She has hopes to follow in the footsteps of those she looks up to most in the industry, such as J.K. Rowling and Anne Rice, and has began working on her first fictional piece, “Heathens” that she hopes to publish with in the next year. While she isn’t drowning in the world of literature, which is a rarity, she is often causing waves of eye rolls with her horrible jokes and even worse off puns, or spending most of her time with her furry little babies, Two pit bulls named Red and Keelie. With the guidance of the flat of a hand placed center of the small of her back, and another lightly grasping to her free arm - They moved forward with an air of anticipation engulfing them. Katrina had been very impatient, excitement swimming through her bloodstream and awakening a pit of butterflies in her stomach. She wanted nothing more than to yank off the scarf that hindered her sight to take in her surroundings.
