About this ebook

Christine is an ordinary girl with an ordinary life living in an ordinary town doing an ordinary job until she meets Mrs Winters, her new landlady. This book is set in 1986 in Newport, South Wales where Christine soon discovers her true passion. Having never been spanked as a child, the new discipline regime was at first distasteful but very quickly gave her a meaning to her previously ordinary life. Christine and Brian (the other tenant living in Mrs Winters victorian house) are regularly disciplined for real or imagined infractions of the rules but they knew the "afters" would make it all worthwhile.

    Christine

    A Journey into submission

    Chapter 1

    Waiting

Newport is an ordinary city with ordinary people. It is an historic city and dates back long before anybody can remember, except perhaps Old Bill who props himself up against the bar at the Scrum Half Pub on Commercial street every evening from opening time to closing time and hasn't bought a drink since 1963 when the Newport Rugby Club beat the All Blacks. It is interesting to note that the club was awarded the freedom of the City 40 years later. Nothing happens very quickly in Newport.

This story, however, is set in the 1986.The swinging sixties had left the world behind and some would say they never managed to bother Newport at all. The 70's had come and gone leaving Newport unblemished so by the time 1986 arrived the trendy young merrymakers of Newport thought going to a disco was the highlight of the week and the back row of the ABC Cinema in Bridge Street was the best place to get to know your girlfriend.

Christine was waiting, and she hated waiting. At twenty eight years of age you would think she was used to it by now. As a junior journalist for the South Wales Argus she seem to spend half her life waiting to interview somebody or waiting to speak to the editor or just waiting for a bus. Now she was waiting to have a chat with her landlady, Mrs Winters.

Christine had been a tall girl at junior school but at 5 foot 4 inches she stopped growing and now looked up to most people. She had blond straight hair which she hated so she kept it quite short and tried every morning to curl it, only to discover it straightened up by the end of the day. When the weather was damp her hair was straight by lunchtime and in Newport it was usually damp, if not actually raining.

Christine had only met Mrs Winters a few weeks ago when she arrived in the town with a new job and a new place to stay. Her first meeting was when she found 18 Anthea Road, and knocked at the door which was answered by a middle-aged lady with a warm friendly smile.

Hello Christine had said as she was shown into the hall of the beautifully decorated house. My name is Christine MacDonald. Well Chris if you like.

Yes dear, I know. I am Mrs Winters. You call me Mrs Winters, or Ma'am if you like.

Wow. Christine thought. I won't be staying here very long if that is her attitude. And then out loud she said Yes Ma'am. She wasn't sure if she should have curtsied as well.

I just have two guests and you are both on the top floor. Just one bathroom up there I'm afraid but you will share. Brian is a lovely boy, very tidy and no trouble at all so I am sure you will be alright. I hope you will be as good as Brian, he knows exactly what will happen if there is any trouble.

Mrs Winters’ voice commanded a level of authority that was rather scary. Christine decided that there will be no trouble at all and she would be looking for better digs as soon as she can. Yes Ma'am. she said. No trouble at all.

    I should hope so.

Mrs Winters liked the look of Christine. She had agreed to offer her new tenant the room without a meeting, which was unusual, but the photograph Christine had sent made her look younger than her 28 years, and in need of a motherly landlady, a role which Mrs Winters enjoyed. Christine was dressed in the same floral cotton mini-dress that she wore in the photograph. Mrs Winters thought that the dress was not as short as some of the girls were waring and that pleased her. Christine was carrying just one suitcase which didn’t seem all that heavy.

Christine's room was surprisingly large and airy with a beautiful view over the estuary that took her breath away. There was a sleeping area with a double bed and lovely furniture as well as a lounge area with a desk to work at. Behind a roller door was a small kitchenette with sink, cooker and fridge. It was amazing and quite unexpected.

You will find the desk and chair very comfortable and I guess you will need that in your job.

Yes, Ma'am. I will. Then as an afterthought she said. This room is beautiful, thank you Mrs Winters.

Well see you keep it like that.

That was all three weeks ago and Christine still hadn't found anywhere else to live that held a candle to her lovely room in Mrs. Winters' house. Now she is sitting outside Mrs Winters lounge waiting for her 10 o'clock appointment. Mrs. Winters was very strict about times. She had asked Christine to come and see her at 10 o'clock this morning and 10 o'clock means 10 o'clock. Not a minute early and not a minute late.

Christine smiled to herself. Actually Mrs Winters is a lovely lady and very attractive in an older sort of way. Apart from the room being the best in the area, it was also the least expensive. On that first day when Christine arrived she discovered that Mrs. Winters had stocked the kitchen cupboards with tinned food and other groceries and the fridge with milk, butter and fruit juice. Since then she would often find, when she came home from work, that Mrs Winters had been in her room and tidied, leaving fresh flowers and sometimes a little gift of chocolates.

The clock in the hall struck the hour and Christine stood up and knocked at the lounge door twice.

Come in Christine Mrs Winters voice was commanding but warm at the same time.

Thank you for coming to see me Christine. No don't sit, you won't be here long. Mrs Winters was sitting behind a dark wood desk positioned with the window behind her. This was the first time Christine had been in Mrs Winters' lounge and was impressed by the quality of the tastefully decorated room.

Now… down to business. Mrs Winters picked up some papers on her desk and shuffled them into a neat pile. As you know I am very careful with the guests I have here and before we met I gave you a form to fill in with your details and history etc.

Yes Mrs Winters. Christine was suddenly very nervous.

So I had a private investigator just check over your answers for me.

    Ah!

Yes, you may well say Ah! I expect you know where this is going so I don't need to continue. I am not a cruel person so I will let you stay until the end of the week but after that I want you to leave.

Oh No! Please Mrs Winters. Christine felt the tears welling up in her
