- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5“Flowers” by Lynn M. Stone, is a great introduction to plant biology for children of about the age of 4 to 8. The text is very simple and straight to the point, and it pairs really well with the exquisite, bright photography of flowers and their pollinators, which is the focus of the book. “Flowers” explains why people love flowers, the reasons why they’re important, the different parts of the flower and the process of pollination. There’s also a useful glossary at the end of the book that consists of a small picture, pronunciation and definition of some of the key terms “Flowers” covers. This is definitely a worthwhile resource, particularly in an academic setting.
