About this ebook
From the second Helen Walker lays eyes on Jason Freeman, something sparks. It is as intangible as it strong. And it takes hold of her entire existence.
Through sheer luck, or fate, or both, it turns out that Jason feels exactly the same way. And the relationship they have forged is as passionate as it is unconventional.
Only one problem plagues them: Their Families.
For decades, Helen's and Jason's families have been at war with each other. For a time, the pair's mutual affection is strong enough to rise above the fighting. But, as the consequences of the battle become more tragic, a wedge begins to form. Coupled with an unspeakable betrayal of trust, Helen and Jason must dig deep within themselves to find a way back to each other. And to cope with an unexpected surprise that will alter the course of their lives forever.

Chapter 1
If she allowed so much as one cursory visit from one of her neighbors, Helen Walker’s garden would be the envy of the neighborhood. Her herbs alone could fill a whole supermarket’s stocking needs for a month. She has also planted flowers in every color of the rainbow, from purple lilacs to blue daffodils to red and yellow roses. Helen has taken great care in her arrangement of the flora collection, taking into account the needs of the plants themselves, as well the aesthetic effect of the color scheme. Splashes of every hue were placed in each section of the garden, eliminating monotony and creating a feast for the eyes.
But what really makes this space extraordinary is not its vibrant, expertly cared for plant life. It is its spiritual resonance. The place is so pure and alive, it pulsates. The vibrations can be felt within seconds of stepping foot into it. Helen swears the energy of the garden is so potent, it even lights up at night, sans any burning candles or flood lamps.
The centerpiece of this transcendent location is a circular patio furnished with an oak table that sits all of a foot off the ground. The table is adorned with a black cloth decorated with a silver five-pointed star inside of a silver circle. On the right hand side of this altar, Helen has placed an elaborate golden statue of a male figure riding a proud, regal looking lion. His svelte body is covered by only a toga cloth. His strong, steady hands are holding a three-pronged triton. To the left is another small sculpture, this one of a female wearing a crown of stars and a crescent moon in the front. She is surrounded by lush foliage, a few leaves even dangling in her long wavy hair. Both figurines sit behind simple, tall candles, one red and one green, respectively. The entire set-up provides a sturdy anchor for deep mystical practice.
Tonight, however, Helen is engaged in a more worldly
endeavor: stalking a celebrity through a crystal ball. She feels horribly sacrilegious using such a unique, hallowed place for something so petty. But it’s hard to give a shit about some esoteric divine connection
when you’ve just lip-locked with Jason
