About this ebook

It seems the past has caught up with Alaska State Trooper Liam Campbell.

After a party of hunters stumbles upon a desiccated human hand clutching an incredibly rare 'double-eagle' gold coin, Liam Campbell is led to the broken remains of a World War II-era transport plane emerging from the face of a calving glacier.

For some sixty years the glacier has held its secrets close: Who was on the ill-fated flight? What were they doing?

74-year-old Newenham matriarch Lydia Tompkins might have had the answers Campbell is looking for, but now she's dead too, murdered in her own home. And she won't be the last to die as a once-buried secret returns to haunt the present.

The last published (to date) Liam Campbell mystery; another great tale with Liam and Wy, with a decent mystery that once again shows the ripple effects of crime on small-town Alaska, while developing their own relationship. The WWII history ties were neat as well, since the Alaskan experience in that period is unknown to most people. "BtR" leaves a lot of open ends for Liam, though, so the news that a fifth Liam book is forthcoming, probably in 2010, is definitely welcome.

Another Liam Campbell mystery, combined with romance and history. What better? Set in a small Alaska town, the discovery of a DC-3/C-47 embedded in a glacier sets ripples throughout the town. The mystery is topped off with a couple of romances and it's all a good story.

A good entry in this almost abandoned series. Lots of history tangled with the sudden appearance of a WW2 "GooneyBird" in a calving glacier. A cameo appearance from Liam's father and a revelation from Moses to Wy complicate relationships as Liam tries to solve the murder of the mom and daughter of a longtime resident family.
