Anne Frank, the young girl from Germany is much known posthumously for her haunting diary notes during World War II. She was one of the thousands of girls who were disintegrated at the time of Holocaust, when her family was compelled to hide from Nazi Gestapo in order to escape from the Jewish persecutions. Post the war, her father Otto Frank, the only survivor from her family, published the collection of her diary with the title ‘Diary of A Young Girl‘, that she used to write during the tough times to disclose her experiences and thoughts.

Anne Frank was born in Frankfurt, Germany on 12 June 1929. When she was just 4, the family moved to Netherlands where her father Otto Frank ran a business. When Netherlands was occupied by the Nazi Germany in 1940, the Jewish community there had to suffer severe repressions so was for the Franks. To escape from arrest and persecutions, they were forced to hide in one of the concealed rooms behind her father’s store along with another family. Anne used to write on a diary and kept it along with her which she got as a birthday present.
