INTRODUCTION OF THE CONCEPT OF EMPOWERMENT

Ever thought of a world in which some are born as preteens, teens or young adults while others are given birth to as infants?

Absolute injustice! That would be the response of the vast majority if this were put to test on a global scale. There could even be mass protest and possibly, a global shut down clamouring for the reversal of this injustice to humanity in general. After all, there is a popular maxim that says: an injustice to one is an injustice to all.

Even with such apparent inequality totally out of the way, are humans really born equal? It may not be an easy question as it seems on the surface if we take an in-depth look at all the parameters that surround the birth of an individual. Please spare yourself any deep thought. Just take a deep breath, relax and read on!

We can all identify with the fact that while some are born in regions of the world where development is the norm and high quality of life is taken for granted, others are born in areas of absolute war, total lack of development and very low quality of life.

This is one of the several ironies of life. I call this an irony because no one is given the chance to choose where he is born. Some have come up with clichés like: life is not fair in reaction to realisms like this. Do you see it this way?
